Sunday Times — funeral plan from dignity and funeral service by co operative funerals

Address:yo7 2nt

My late wife paid dignity for a plan and on her 10 march 17 death i was instructed by dignity that co op northallerton would undertake the service. During december '17 i received mail from co op n/allerton suggesting i attend their premises during xmas and take part with other bereaved persons in a memorial event with refreshments and an invitation to write upon an enclosed cardboard disc a eulogy to my wife and hang it on their christmas tree also; i may like to donate to the co ops favoured local charity. Myself and daughter were outraged that our grief, more poignant at xmas ' was commercialised in this way but decided it should not be allowed to affect us. However, i became aware this intrusion by the co op may continue and their marketing department may have more surprises in store. I contacted co op and was amazed there response was to inform me they had undertaken dignity's order at a financial loss and they had done me a favour by cremating my wife. I would like to prevent others from unwittingly suffering from the co op's crass commercialism which is reason for connecting yourselves. It may be of note that data protection has been violated. Thanks and best regards
