[Resolved] Swiggy — refund denied for missing item from order | |||
Order no. [protected] I ordered on the swiggy app for the restaurant fattoush on bannerghatta road in bangalore at 8:55pm on jan 1, 2019 for the amount of rs. 422. My payment was through paytm. I ordered a shawarma and a tangdi kabab. The delivery boy, mr. Manoj kumar missed bringing the shawarma. The first time i contacted the customer service and put the delivery boy on call with them to complain regarding the missing item, all they had to say was they will take the feedback and ensure it won’t happen again in the future. I was shocked by this response. I called up the customer care again and this time mr. Akhtar khan, customer rep from swiggy, hyderabad had the audacity to tell me to take this issue to the consumer court as according to swiggy’s compensation policy, missing items are not eligible for a refund! This is sheer daylight robbery. They have outright refused to give me my money back for an item which was never even delivered to me! Swiggy has been cheating customers. Jan 5, 2019 Complaint marked as Resolved I got a call from Swiggy the next day notifying me about the refund on Paytm. Swiggy customer support has been notified about the posted complaint. | |||

However, I'm sure there must be several cases like the above. I understand the restaurant must also be held responsible for the inconvenience, however, as a customer ordering through Swiggy, I expect Swiggy to deliver my order right. Hence, including a refund for missing items should be included to your official compensation policy so that consumers do not have to come down to complain on a consumer forum.
