Tamil Nadu Electricity Board [TNEB] — damaged meter and absurdly high electricity bill | |
My tneb consumer number is [protected]. The electricity meter was somehow damaged and the correct reading could not be taken by the tneb person this month. They said it was my mistake that i did not inform them about the meter damage and the damaged meter has to be replaced. When i asked them how i am supposed to know about meter damage, as they are the ones taking the reading, the person could not give any reply. As for the electricity charges for the months of july and august, i informed them that no electricity was consumed between 05.08.2018 and 02.09.2018 as the room was vacant for 1 whole month. Even then they have somehow updated a bill of rs.3628 stating that i have to pay the average of the last 1 year. However rs.3628 is nowhere near to the average of the bill that i paid for the last 1 year. On what grounds can they charge me for 780 units of electricity consumed? They have simply put the status in the bill as "defective" and they expect me to pay rs.3628 for 1 month consumption alone. Isn't this daylight robbery on their part? Where is the proof for this absurd usage that they have updated? I need this to be resolved immediately. Was this information helpful? | |
