Tamilnadu Government — Dazzling headlights-menace to the walkers | |||
Thousands of vehicles right from two wheelers to multi wheeled Vehicles ply on the roads of chennai city and suburbans, daily. In addition, number of new vehicles hit the roads with up-to-date features And there is no restrictions to the manufacturers for the sale of new Vehicles. As a result, all roads are congested with non-stop traffic which Is a hassle for the walkers. The central govt; should take note of this And impose restrictions on the number of new vehicles that can be sold by the manufacturers. Otherwise, every one has to walk in the air. At dusk, every vehicle beams the headlight/s, focussing on the walkers On the roads opposite to it directly that dazzles them and even causes Fatal accidents. Also, the beaming light leads to the loss of faculty of the Eyes of the walkers. Until the close of the last century, all vehicles were Trictly required to smear the upper optical portion of the dome of the Headlight/s with black paint in order to avoid dazzling who happened to Come in the opposite direction of the vehicle. The headlights are meant To focus the road and not the persons on the roads. The traffic police Were very strict and those who violated the ordinances were penalised Without any reservation. Even those drove the vehicles with the head - -lights off, were charged. Many good benevolent rules have been repealed in the past 25 years. The govt;of tamilnadu should graciously Consider the roll-back of the discarded rule for the sake of the public And promulgate the ordinance in this regard, suitably.
