[Resolved]  Tata Motors — defective clutch and gear

After i got the car (From the 2nd free service), after two days, a weird creaking noise started coming from inside the bonnet, whenever the gear shifts. I ignored it for a few days, but it was getting worse. Whenever the gear shifted and when the rpm was between 1500 and 2000, the noise became so evident. I took the car to the tata concord showroom on hosur road read dairy circle. Ever since, i have been there 6 times. 2 times even on a single day. They sent me back every time saying that there is no issue with the car. And the manager, one mr. Fayaz, even gave me the following explanation – “madam, small noise is there. But we checked all the regular parts as per protocol. We are not able to identify what the issue is. You please continue driving. When the issue aggravates and the noise becomes unbearable, then it would have affected some other part of the car, which we can see. That time we can rectify the problem”. This happened last saturday (7th feb 2020).

I cannot begin to imagine what level of dumbness did he think i was at.
This is not my first time driving a car or sitting inside a car. If the noise comes while the gear shifts, then isn’t it plain common sense that the gear box needs to be checked (Given that they have checked all the other moving parts)?

Anyway, finally i told them that i need it fixed, the sound is too much. Please note that whenever they sent me back, i had to take a whole round, drive the car for some time and then come back wading through the dairy circle traffic.

As per their instructions, i left my car today at the showroom at 07:00 am. I got a slip which stated that i am the first customer for today. However, i never got a call back or any acknowledgement from the showroom, until i called mr. Fayaz at 12:00pm.

He said, “madam, advisor prashanth kumar will get in touch with you. He is busy with walk-in customers. So we have not checked your car till now”.

I cannot begin to explain my anger and frustration at the callous nature and attitude of the people at the showroom. They just don’t care.

In the mean time i raised a formal complaint against the showroom. Complaint number[protected].

I get a call around 30 minutes later from prashanth kumar saying that, they are checking my car, and only by evening he can tell me what the issue is with the car.

I cannot begin to tell you how frustrated and disappointed i am with the customer service that i have received so far from the tata concord showroom. The people there are callous, irresponsible, and extremely dismissive. I regret that i bought a car which cannot be serviced properly.

After this i was called for joint test drive and they continued to ignore my complaint. They said it was operational noise. I left the vehicle there and came back. After an hour they called and confirmed that they heard the noise and they claim to have changed the clutch kit in a day. I again did the test drive and still continue to get the creaking noise at the same rpm at all gears.
