[Resolved] Tata Sky — otp fraud for pack activation | |||
Hello, I have called Tata Sky Helpline No. Today to complaint about my remote. I received a call from the local tata sky center in Palam from the number[protected] and visit was arranged. Within a couple of hours the remote was delivered. After that I receive another call from Tata Sky (local center) from the number[protected] and she asked me to give an OTP that I have received from Tata Sky. Here is the message sent to me by Tata Sky. OTP 844**0 to activate Tata Sky Fitness on your Tata Sky account [protected] @ just Rs 30 (after 49% discount)for the 1st Month, 2nd Month onwards regular price Rs 59 PM applicable. Please share OTP only if you want to subscribe to Tata Sky Fitness I told her that the only OTP that I have received is for activating a pack, she insisted that it is mandatory to give that to Tata Sky. So I had to give her the OTP. I received a message immediately that the pack is activated and money deducted from my account. Tata Sky Fitness added @ Rs30, validity: 30-Mar-18. Current a/c Bal: Rs9.83. Due date: 03-Apr-18. Base Pack (Ultra) renewal date: 16-Sep-18. I[censored]nable to View Channels, simply Power On your Box and give a Missed call to[protected] and start viewing our services instantly I tried calling that number but she never picked my call. Post that I called Tata Sky customer care and my 2 complaints were registered. 1. Refund for the activated pack. 2. Fraud committed by Tata Sky local service center. Post that I called the delivery guy Mr.Ravi[protected] and told him the entire chapter. He said that I shouldn't have given the OTP to these people. I again called the center on their landline this time[protected] This time they picked up the phone and the girl handed the phone to another guy who was extremely rude and told me that Tata Sky has only authorize them to call us and we can complaint where ever we want to. These people were infact laughing about the same and cut my call. I really need to know before further escalating this issue that how is such a fraud happening in the name of such a reputed company. Please explain: 1. Why was the OTP even generated and messaged to me when I have not raised any request for the given pack. Without my authorization how is TATA Sky sending me OTP's. 2. I have neither messaged nor called to tell the OTP from my registered mobile number to the tata sky customer support than how did the pack got activated? 3. Has Tata Sky authorized it's local service centers to collect these OTP's ? 4. What benefit do these local service centers get after fraudly activating the pack on our account, is tata sky giving them a cut? 5. What legal action has tata sky taking to prevent such frauds and punish these local service centers if all of this is happening without your knowledge.
