Thane Municipal Transport [TMT] — bus no. 62 - a person known to conductor didn't want ladies to be seated on seats marked for them | |||
17 July 2018 -12.10 pm -Bus no. 62 -En-route to Thane- Conductor did not stop a man who was scolding two girls for not sitting on reserved(women) seat ( which were full already) and also ensured that another lady does not sit on a seat reserved for ladies as a man was already seated there. He was also yelling at a lady - senior citizen to vacate the senior citizen seat and find place to sit in seats marked for ladies. I don't think anyone can start deciding whether ladies should be allowed to be seated in a bus or not and that too on the seats marked for them! The conductor informed that the man was off-duty but a senior TMT person and so he could do nothing. Even after asking many times the conductor did not divulge the name of that person. Fellow passengers said the person had been behaving in the same manner since he boarded the bus from the bus at the start point. The conductor and driver protected the man's identity who actually did not seem normal and was behaving as if he was drunk and unstable. How can TMT allow such things ? Why didn't the conductor ask the person to get off the bus? I would request TMT to seriously look into this matter and provide training to bus conductors/supervisors to handle such situation.
