[Resolved]  Agoda.com — Services not rendered

Booked few rooms in a hotel in Coimbatore for me & my friends through www.agoda.com for January 30, 2013. Paid the money vide credit card, received the confirmation voucher stating room booking is confirmed & accordingly we have issued our flight tickets at non-refundable fares. Couple of days after, I called up the hotel to reconfirm my booking and came to know that agoda has not made any booking. When I called up Agoda Customer Care in the UK, they have informed that the booking can't be taken due to non availability of rooms at the hotel and had asked me to cancel the booking in their portal to get the refund. When I checked with other hotels in Coimbatore, none of them are available and all our flight tickets need to be cancelled, which is of no use as no refunds are possible. Have made a huge loss due to Agoda's service issue, pls advise on how to compensate on this issue. If they can't guarantee the reservation, then why this hotel is displayed in their website and gave me the confirmation after making the payment. When I got a written mail from Agoda, I have cancelled the booking and they refunded the money after 72hrs. We were a group of 18 people, wanted to attend a conference for the said dates above and now really don't know what to do!!! Could someone help me in this. Total airfare came out at INR 1,80,000 - pls advise on how to proceed with this. I did check other indian portals to make this booking before viewing agoda, but nobody could offer rooms during the said date. Kumar +[protected].
