TTD — provision to cancel special entry tickets

I have booked special entry for a group of 5 members, but after booking i realise that i have selected a wrong date of booking. When i wanted to cancel the ticket, i did not find a provision to do that and later i learnt that it would be a forfeiture. My question is simple, why should it be a forfeiture? What is the logic behind it? It is my hard earned money and i have every right to get my cash back disregarding any transaction fees or booking charges. I cannot find any reasoning behind keeping all my cash with you. I realise my mistake of overlooking the date and as a penalty you could levy a charge of max 100inr. Coincidentally the user interface is unfriendly and i see many people complaining against failed transactions
