[Resolved] Vodafone India — mobile - wrong billing and lack of safeguards in their system | |||
I am a post paid subscriber. Before traveling abroad on 8th aug '18 i had availed international roaming @rs149 pm only to ensure that i get otps sent by sms by banks and similar institutions for enabling financial transactions. I have a local sim for my personal use while in the us since aug 8 and between that and skype calling, thus use of my cell for calls while on international roaming has been completely unnecessary. For the months of aug, sep and oct i have been billed correctly but the latest bill (Nov) shows an abnormally high figure rs 2949.00. On verifying the billing details on the vodafone app and a subsequent phone call to customer care, i was informed that i have been charged for 2 calls of 7 min each, to one unknown number and another call of 5 seconds duration to yet another unknown number all on 14th nov!! However, please note that these calls were not made by me and hence i should not liable to pay for these. Further, on verification with 'truecaller' app, i note that both these numbers are reported as spam numbers and i wonder why vodafone systems didn’t prevent such calls in the first place to/from a spam number! My family members and i have been vodafone customers for many years now and we are taken aback by this unprecedented billing despite prior planning and availing of a roaming package. I am very alarmed that my number is noted as having made these calls and that vodafone has no safeguards in place nor a way to address a known customer’s request for help when scrutiny into the account shows clearly that this is some misuse of my number by someone else or a glitch in your system. On 25th oct'18 i had requested vodafone to enquire into this erroneous billing and send me a revised and corrected bill so that i can keep up my payment schedule. But till now (01-12-'18) vodafone has not even acknowledged the email or corrected the bill. Was this information helpful? | |||
