[Resolved] Vodafone India — mpesa fraud | |
Got a sms at 12.49pm today that I have initiated and completed a Vodafone postpaid bill payment for INR 130/-. The number my mpesa wallet was used for was Mobile phone number : [protected] My mobile phone number is 8xxxxxxxxx I called the toll free number[protected] immediately, but the customer care phone officer, told 1) she can do nothing. (then why is the number provided) 2) she asked if I had been to any mpesa store recently. I told her yes, but I couldn't recollect the exact particulars. She wants the exact address. I just asked her to close the account. But she kept insisting on the the address. I want the wallet closed at least to prevent further fraudulent activities. What process are you following? You can reverse the transaction, neither are you adhering to a complaint or closing the accounts. I got another sms telling I had added Vodafone on my bank list. I haven't. This is a fraud.
