I had created a request for hard drive replacement on the 10th of Jan 2009. The companys website states it needs 3-4 working days for providing a replacement. as they have a door to door policy. I went online registered and scheduled a pickup.
First complaint
The pickup was delayed by almost 2 weeks. Then the pick up guy who called up and confirmed he would be coming over in 15 mins as he was just near my house in the morning showed up 6 hours late. I got calls throughout the day by 2 or 3 different guys asking me for my address and being totally clue less of any delays. My mom had to stay at home the whole day on account of this circus. Finally a guy comes picks up the drive doesnt give a reciept says he will call me and confirm and 30 mins later another set of guys show up to pickup the same drive. it has been over a week since this fiasco. I still have no news about my drive or a replacment.
Second complaint
Got in touch with WD support again with my complaint. Got a prompt response they are looking in to this matter. IT has been another week since my complaint and still no news or action.

Western Digital — Hard drive
I have purchased an Western Digital 160gb hard drive.. serial no.(Wcav[protected] on 3-march 2009... but when i attached it didn't work.. and the retailer says that just inform company they will replace it because it has onsite warranty... now tell me what is the procedure to replace it as soon as possible...
