Hello sir, my uncle bought this hard disk from dubai it was working very nice with usb 3.0 i live in india, i used to connect to connect my laptop amd LED tv too, after one year it stopped working in laptop, but it is working correctly with LED tv, when i connected to my laptop the light is blinking and it is detected in my laptop ie:my passport 0748 but i am not getting any files actually it is not in my computer aplication so pleace identify problem Thank you Was this information helpful? | |||||

I am sorry you are having issues with the WD drive . As you have mentioned that the drive is working fine with the LED, so there shouldn't be any issue with the drive.
Most probably it's drivers issues with the laptop. You may follow the steps below to update the drivers
1. From the Start Menu or from the Laptop, right-click on the Computer. This will bring up the Computer Management window.
2. Click on Device Manager, which appears in the left-hand side under the heading System Tools.
3. A listing of the devices in your system should now be visible there.
4. Click on the Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand it and see if there is any rectangle usually marked with yellow color or a sign of exclamation.
5. Right click on that and uninstall it and then restart your PC.
6. Windows should automatically update the drivers.
Now you should be able to see the drive in my computer.
