Yes Bank — sneaky charging of foreign credit cards on foreign currency

I a nri on a visit back home and had incurred some charges in one of the restaurants in trichy. Instead of charging me in the local currency (In inr), which i had marked specifically on my bill, i had been charged on usd. The problem with the usd charge by yes bank is that, on top of the bad exchange rate they use for the currency conversion, they slap a 3.9% markup on the overall bill that is akin to daylight robbery. While in the grand scheme of things this may not be a large amount on my bill, as a matter of principle it is indeed robbery. Instead of getting the going exchange rate (Which my us bank provides with no foreign transaction fee) of say around rs.71+ per usd 1 as of 06 sep., yes bank's rate comes to rs. 67 per 1usd.
I have raised a complaint and have not heard from the vendor yet..
