Well, first the good part.

I had a good trip with zoom scorpio for 3 days. Price, drop and pick up was on time.

Now the bad part.

Car no: ka51aa3452 (Red scorpio)

I knew few charges which zoom car drivers/owners charge to customers though they are not caused by customers. Hence i took care to record video and photos before i took the car from zoom guys when they came to drop the car to my location. One wheel cap was missing, this is a usual tactic to charge later. Few dents, interior door handle missing, over speeding, cigarette ash inside the car etc etc.

During my 3 days trip, i took good care of the car. Did not park on street, did not cross the speed limit, payed road taxes, paid parking, no scratches or dents, clean driving.

I returned the car in the evening. Driver came, he checked the car, confirmed nothing was damaged, ended the trip in the app after uploading fuel receipts.

Trouble starts after i returned the car. Driver took the car back to their hub and sends me a whatsapp picture with a scratch at the back. He said they will charge me rs 2000 for the damage. I argued with the driver, but he said you talk to zoom car, and that they have uploaded the picture which was taken at my location etc etc.

I asked him to send the picture taken at my location, but he did not have. He said i would get an email through mobile app where i can check the pictures. I have not received it yet. Anyway, later i get a rs 2000 damage fees in the app without any proof or pictures.

After couple of days, i get a call from zoom cars saying i have outstanding amount. I told them what had happened. Here is what has happened. I returned the car without any damage, driver or owner damaged the car with a scratch themselves before they took it to the hub location. They sent me the picture and charged me 2000. They did not want to talk to me because they know they did it and now i will have to fight with zoom car to reverse the charges.

Now after a week, zoom car sends me a legal notice to clear the outstanding. No one calls me to ask the issue. I mailed them few times with what had happened. Then a customer care executive calls and talks about the issue. They say if i have a proof that i gave the car without damage. So i asked them if they have any proof that i have damaged the car. They say, it is not zoom car responsibility to take any pictures. Hence it is not customers responsibility to take any pictures. Then she asked is there a proof that driver told there was no damage when he took the car. Well, how do i get this proof. It was just a conversation which we had on spot.

Customer care executive then said, she was going to escalate the issue with legal, with second notice. They will not reverse the charges because it is valid as per them. As per me it is invalid claim. So the argument is still on.

Then after reading few reviews, i realized such damage charges and self inflicted damages are common among drivers and owners to make extra money. And zoom cars will not support the customer. They will just charge you and send legal notice upon another notice.

So be careful with zoom cars, take enough precautions, take pictures before and after the trip. Record your conversation with drivers in case you have to produce proof later. As far as possible keep away from zoom cars. It is a good service, but there are loop holes which owners of zoom cars exploit and customers have to suffer.

We have sent an email to your registered email ID with the required details. We did have a recheck on the escalation raised by you regarding the vehicle damage charges. We see that the charges levied are appropriate as the there are scratches on the rear door.

I will try to re iterate one more time because you have troubles understanding.
These pictures were not taken at my location. These pictures were taken after trip ended.
These scratches were made by someone else not by me
I cannot take pictures taken at hub location as proof.
If it was taken at my location, how did the driver know to take only these pictures but not from front and side?
Send me other pictures taken at my location.
This is the fraud action by the people who come to collect the car. Hence you will have to provide me proof of pics taken at my location from all angles.

For once, can you think from an angle where customer could be right? To extort money from customers, zoom car owners and owning drivers adopt such cheap tricks. Instead of taking action against such owners to maintain your reputation, you are harassing the customer again with invalid proofs and arguments.

I really do not know what you mean by your team will reach out at the earliest. It has been more than a month since I have written to them. Haven't heard back yet. I have written again today to [protected]@zoomcar.com, [protected]@zoomcar.com.
I anyway do not expect any responsible communication from zoomcar side. But I am still hoping to resolve the issue because I do not want to delay stuff.

Appreciate if you can speed up the process and "get in touch".
