Zoom Car — zoom car return fraud - false damage charges

My xuv was going for service and i had taken a zoom car 2.5 day 300 km package. This is an automated collect and drop off car.

I reached the place and found car full of dents, scratches and a hole in the bumper. Called zoom service to report, they asked to report via app and take video if possible, so i did take video and reported via app - app said car does not seem suitable to drive and zoom exec will call - i was getting late and i left. No zoom exec ever called.

I returned the car and later when checking the app for the invoice which i need to file i find i am charged 10k for damage when all i did was take the car to office and back and i have been driving 20 years without single insurance claim (Have max 50% ncb). I tried calling zoom several times but when i press 6 the call just disconnects. So, i wrote to them and got a response to wait 24-48 hours. Now i get message and email to pay 10k.

Please note i have returned the car in exactly same condition i took it other than wash it because it was dirty and i had to take it to office. I asked around some auto forum members and they say such partner cars are prone to these kind of frauds.

Based on the outcome of this complaint i will decide my next steps. I have requested zoom to blacklist this particular partner - other than the return fraud they are trying to pull on me, the car is not well maintained and interiors smelt disgusting. Please note the car is kept in a flat in a slum like area and multiple people saw me in my xuv (Which struggled on the narrow roads to get there) and the partner got greedy i think.

For all others who read this - please avoid auto collect partner cars, not worth it.

Day 3 status - Absolutely no call/email from zoomcar after the we will get back to you in 24-48 hrs email. I have one more set of automated email and SMS to pay 10k immediately. I still have no clue what these 'damage' charges are for - the app does not state what these false charges are for.

I tried calling zoom support many many times since this issue. The IVRS simply says I owe 10k and when I press 6 to speak to customer care executive it simply disconnects the call.

I would like to take this case up legally but have severe paucity of time due to my work. If any lawyer/activist/any other affected party want to take this case on my behalf I will be very grateful. Pls comment back on this post to help.

Update: Evening Mar 7 I get a call from zoomcar exec that they need one more day to resolve and they will call back. I ask Exec if our call is recorded, she says yes and i reiterate all that has happened, including my first call to zoomcar as soon as I saw car when I went to pick it up, the hole in rear bumper which looks as though made purposely by sharp objects and how liquid vulcanization can fix it relatively cheaply for the partner. Exec happy to hear I have taken video and asks to forward to zoomcar support but I was not able to as it is > 25 MB, So I write to them (frustrating that I cannot call them) -

There is no update at all on 08 Mar, the day they are supposed to close the case.

I write to them again. No response.

I get their automated email and SMS at midnight saying if I don't pay 10k in two days, they will suspend my account.

Am not sure how they can do that when I have done everything right including writing in to report. (Can't get over the fact that I can't call them)

We should have better powers in India to sue the these guys for harassment

Why should I go through the agony because of a lie and greed of their partner?
