Abn Amro — ABN AMRO AND Now Kotak aren't reflecting the status of clearing the dues, impacting CIBIL Score
I was using ABN AMRO credit card back in 2004. As I was traveling abroad, I paid the dues on the card ahead of getting the statement, so that, I can use the full limit on the card whilst being away from the country. However, to my surprise, on my return, the statement that I received was inclusive of the amount that was already paid. After lot of back and forth and escalations, it was finally agreed that I only make the payment for the new charges. So, I deducted the amount that was paid and made payment for the due. With this pathetic experience, I canceled my subscription with them. In 2013, when I applied for car loan, the loan issuing bank informed me that there is an outstanding due for me. After investigation, I came to know that, it's the same ABN AMRO. I paid 53K to ensure this doesn't reflect as settled and doesn't impact my credit score. Now, almost end of 2021, they are still showing an outstanding balance of Rs. 1 (yes, you heard it right, Rupees ONE) and that is impacting my credit score negatively. Can anyone please help me to ensure the relevant bank updates the true status and get this off my CIBIL report please? Was this information helpful?
