Amrita Hospital Kochi — Amrita Hospital Kochi Complaints - Pediatric Cardiology Dept Complaints

Pediatric cardiology Surgery
I am writing this with lot of pain. For our 7-year-old son, on 6th April 2021 open heart surgery had been done and due to post surgery complications, we lost our beloved one on 20th June 2021.

Post-Surgery Complications
1. After discharge on 13th April, he had continuous dry cough from 14th April 2021 and he was better on 28 April 2021 after treating him with pediatrician in our native as advised by surgeon who did the surgery and the cardiologist.
2. From 7th May 2021 he got severe leg pain followed by ankle swelling, arm pain and fever.
As we are out of Kerala we had explained in detail through mail and call, all the complication to Amrita’s India’s first Pediatric Cardiology Department and Dr said that it’s just an inflammation and you parents should be counselled for getting panic.
On 12th May 2021 in our native we had admitted him in medium center, his swelling had settled, but fever continued and he is unable to walk, but they had discharged him within 3 days. After discharge he again had fever and abdomen pain so we had admitted him in same center on 21st May 2021.
From 12th May 2021 to 27th May 2021 without any clue that medium center had wasted the golden time. Meanwhile we are pleading to Amrita’s India’s first Pediatric Cardiology Department but they asked us not to come to Amrita as Covid 19 is high.
Finally, after frequent plead they had admitted our child on 8th June 2021 and we lost him on 20th June 2021. Right from the day of discharge we were informing all his complications. They wasted the golden days, now they will be telling based on metabolism post pediatric cardiac surgery fatal death are unavoidable. But the more painful part is, our son suffered a lot after surgery and he got so many problems. But doctors are still not aware why this happened to our son. They gave us full confidence that he will be alright right after the surgery and he can live happily.

Nursing Services
Night duty ward nurses will be always busy on going to ICU.
Once fatal death happens, ICU nurses will be happily laughing while the parents are crying on the other side. They behave just like robo who follows the orders given. No humanity at all.

Conclusion
Above all we trusted the doctors more than anything and paid our one and only loved one for it. Thanks for your wonderful service, from a very very painful heart.
