Bajaj Finserv — Harassment by Recovery Dept.

We had purchased two cameras in August 2013 (Customer ID[protected] on EMI from Reliance Digital, Fatimanagar. Our last payment due date was in April, 2014. The last cheque had bounced, so your recovery team executive had visited my residence and we had paid him cash amount (of Rs. 650+ Rs.350+ Rs. 2125) on 10.04.2014. Please refer to the bill. no.6303658 and 6303659, which had settled our bill finally. But, since then their have been repeated phone calls claiming that we had not settled the bill completely. In spite of giving them the details of our bill repeatedly they continued to bother us. At times there would be several people calling our numbers asking for an amount of a meager amount of Rs.350, which they claimed that we had not paid. Ultimately we stopped taking their calls. But, the height of the matter reached when there was an SMS on my Mobile No. [protected], summoning us to court on 2nd of September. I visited the local Bajaj Office in KPCT Mall, Fatimanagar, thoroughly bewildered. The officer checked the status and confirmed that we are right in our claim and it was the problem of the recovery team because they had not recorded the transaction properly. I have collected the proof of the settlement of our account from your office and at attaching the same. I have the SMS on my mobile too for proof. To settle this issue I had to take a day's leave from job in the middle of a very busy schedule. And the harassment has been extremely tormenting. I am very eagerly awaiting to find out how you plan to resolve this problem. I also request you to suggest proper compensation for this. Thank you. Debabrata Ghosh [protected]

Sorry, but I do not understand your reference to the penal charges. What are the charges that you are talking about? Do you mean to say that even after making a full and final settlement, after getting a clearance certificate from your office, there is something more that Bajaj Finance charges? Please go through the photographs which we have attached with the previous mail. You will find that I can make penal charges against you as the case stands now, and not you.

To begin with there was no pending amount due at all that you would charge us with. We had paid the entire amount that was billed by you. It was a mistake on your part to have adjusted incorrectly. So, you have done us no favour regarding it.

The issue now is not only of the harassment done by your recovery team even after we had settled our account, but also of sexual harassment by an employee of yours, who has also tried fraudulently to compromise my savings account.

I hope to see you resolve that.
Sorry, but I do not understand your reference to the penal charges referred to in your answer. What are those charges you have mentioned, may I know? It has been explained to you repeatedly that we owe you no charges at all. The full amount billed in our name has been settled more than a year ago. Therefore your claim to have shown us goodwill does not apply in this case.

Moreover, the issue no longer is only about settlement of the bill. It entails sexual misbehaviour of an employee towards my wife, which is unpardonable in all circumstances.

We await your stringent and exemplary action in this matter, so that such is never repeated in future.
