BBMP — Garbage collector demanding money

Although I agree that you have been doing fantastic job o[censored]pkeeping services.
I wish to complain about Garbage collector demanding Money.

I reside in HA Farm post Bangalore-560024 (Near R P College of Pharmacy) and like to complain about unacceptable behavior of Garbage collector, I appreciate the fact that they collect the garbage and are responsible for the cleanliness of the city, but it’s annoying when they demand money I don’t see any reason to pay them even a rupee when they are getting paid by government.

They also scream in front of everybody on road and get into an argument which looks like we have taken credit from them and is real discredit.
I have heard many people within the same vicinity complaining the person demanding money for each house. Then assume the kind of money the person is making every month apart from his monthly salary.

Sir why should we need to pay them when we already pay our taxes.

I really feel this is a common problem which many people in Bangalore are facing and I request BBMP to take immediate action to avoid such insolent behavior of the garbage collectors or at least make them understand that they cant go on asking for money as if they own it. They need to realise they have their salary through govt and not start a side business.

I agree it's the same in my location as well. I live in nagvarapalya and every time she goes to dispose garbage, they demand. So my mother paid 20 rupees. Again the following week they demand her for money. Today I went the driver asked for money. I told my mother paid already, he said no she did not pay. I do not understand the demanding tone. Are we liable to pay everytime we dispose waste? We are happy to pay during festivals etc. But the demanding tone and inappropriate behaviour is unacceptable. Can some authority please look into this and take appropriate action? Thanks

Hi, same here in Kumaraswamy Layout 2nd Stage, garbage collector says you have to pay every month on 1st by default. We don't have to ask. 50rs every month. And they don't even collect trash if its more. First of all is it mandatory to give money to them.

Since one week, garbage is not collected, we are keeping gaurbage outside, worker only picks those who give money, they are demanding 200 rupees monthly. Dog are tearing gauge cover and garbage, papers are scattered all over. Please check and do the needful at the earliest.
