I got into route no. 314-D bus no:KA 53 F-111, at banashankari today around 1.15 pm, even though i saw the bus having vacant seat by the time i got into the bus, i could not get the seat and a man who posed himself as BMTC staff came sat in the seat meant for conductor of that bus. When I requested him to go back to the seat meant for male passengers he replied in an arrogance that he is BMTC staff. Later an old lady struggling all the way to climb the steps of the bus got in and asked for seat and he showed her the seat which was four rows behind, she took all the pain to reach the vacant seat.
Next stop at sarakki a pregnant lady got into the bus along with her mother and when she saw the first seat occupied by this man even she requested to leave the seat for her to sit, but, even then he was so rude and showed her back seat where a lady obliged her with a seat of hers. For all these sequences, conductor and the driver was the witness where they dint even try to help the passengers who was asking for their rights. We as Bangaloreans want to know what is the duty of the conductors and drivers..? Whether a male staff can be seated in ladies seat even though the bus is fully crowded. In this case a male who was sitting in the ladies seat will be punished with a fine of Rs.100 or just ignore as this conductor and driver ignored this case.
Since a month or more i am observing there is a yellow coloured notification sticked on the glass of BMTC buses where the passengers can complaint regarding male sitting the ladies reserved seats and, and the notice has been torned/scratched exactly to the phone numbers mentioned. Is this smart work of our conductors and drivers.
