HDFC Bank - Credit Card Complaints & Reviews

Hi HDFC Team,

I month back I apply for a credit card. I applied and, got each and every verification done positively at my office and home. Even I got so many calls in my office regarding verification. Today, I checked my application status at HDFC website and it got disapproved and the status was:

This is in regards to Credit Card # [protected]. This account outstanding was settled by me paying the specified amount of around Rs 10000/- as a settlement amount around 5 years back.

I had called HDFC 10 months before to close the card. After that i had received no bills till last month (NOV) and sudddenly received a bill this month. I got shocked how did HDFC sent a bill for closed card. Bill has two transactions of month Aug when i was not in Mumbai. I am not sure how, whcen i have already closed and broken the card.
