Canon India — Canon EF 400mm f4 do is ii - Image Stabilization Issue

Canon EF 400mm f4 do is ii lens was purchased by me in February 2018. Same has been handled carefully and not subjected to drops/ shocks and always stored in dry cabinet. In early January 2024 I noticed image is jumping when IS is on. Took lens to Canon Master Service Centre in Mumbai on 03-Jan-2024. Next day I received a call from Service Centre with repair estimate Rs.65, 000 to replace the image stabilization module. On 05-Jan-2024 I visited service centre to confirm repair but was advised that required spare part is not available at the moment so I took the lens without any repairs. After this I have called Service Centre a few times but I been advised that the spare part is still unavailable anywhere in the world.
This is a very expensive lens and internal parts should not fail so early and even if something fails the spare should be available.
- Request Canon to advise reason for failure of internal part
- Request Canon to provide reason for lack of availability of spare part
