Care Health Insurance — Fraudulent Alterations in my Policy

I had purchased a Health Insurance Policy (No.[protected] by way of porting the same from HDFC Ergo to Care Health Insurance on 29.06.2022 well before the expiry of the previous policy, which was to expire on 21.09.2022. On receipt of the policy document, it has come to my notice that the policy commenced from the date of purchase i.e. 29.06.2022 instead of from the date of expiry of the previous policy i.e. 21.09.2022.

The issue regarding the commencement date of the policy was taken up with the Agent, who explained that an endorsement will be issued to the effect that the period of insurance would be from 22.09.2022 to 21.09.2024 after the expiry of the current policy. However, when no such endorsement was received, I had taken up the matter with Customer Care on 28.10.2022. I was again requested to send a copy of the previous policy from HDFC Ergo, which was forwarded by me. After a lapse of more than one month, it was informed that the "details are correct basis on the previous policy".

As I challenged the submission of the Customer Care Executive of Care Health Insurance, a copy of the HDFC Ergo policy was sent to me on 19.12.2022 which is said to be the basis of the issuance of policy by Care Health Insurance from 29.06.2022. The actual state of affairs has then become clear to me and it was a shocking revelation that some fraudulent alterations relating to the issuance date and period of policy have been carried out by the Agent or Care Insurance personnel in the original policy document from HDFC Ergo held by me.

It is evident that some mischief/forgery has been committed. I had taken up the matter with the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) of Care Health Insurance on Wed Dec 21, 2022 and requested them to carry out a probe into the matter and issue a revised policy. It has been informed that within 24 hours, O/o GRO will revert back to me. However, even after long 19 days of my communication, I haven't heard anything from them. It seems that the matter is being hushed up with the intention to cover up the malpractices prevalent in the Company. Apparently, the grievance redressal mechanism of Care Insurance has no regard for the customers' concerns which is tantamount to unfair and unethical trade practices.

It is requested that a probe into the incident may please be carried out and a revised policy may please be issued to me, which should commence after the expiry of the previous policy from HDFC Ergo.

Earlier i had already sent you lot of mails regarding the issue but no solution has been provided yet. Care Insurance personnel are also trying to hide it.. Nobody is trying to contact me or providing any solution. Anyways i am again ready to explain the issue with all the evidence.
