[Resolved]  Cars24 Services — fraud detection at cars24- faridabad nit office

Hi,

I came here on 8th of oct 2019 for my car's evaluation and i feel like that it was a biggest mistake of my life. Before contacting cars24, i heard a lot that about its ethics and the quality of service they deliver to their customers, but i'd reluctant to agree to any of their guidelines. Here is the exact chronology of events till date:

5th oct'19:
I received the appointment id: [protected] and appointment booked for 8th oct 2019. This was online and i received the acknowledgement via text message

8th oct'19:
1. I visited cars24 office located at fbd nit. As per process, i was given a token for car inspection which they started in 10-15 mins (Not an issue with me as this is the process i could easily see that).

2. Inspection took almost 40-50 mins and they did a complete health check of car. Much impressed with the process.

3. As soon as the inspection got completed, the health check report was flown for the auction (I was told its a process that normally takes 25 mins.)

4. After 25 mins, i was called for the discussion around auction's output and further process if the price interests me.

5. With all the auction output and final price negotiation, i decided to sell my car to cars24 and hence given them the heads up.

6. Now comes the interesting point, with my go ahead to their confirmation on locking the deal, no where in between anybody told me about payment timelines. I was only told that the deal is valid for 3 working days during which i had to arrange all the papers in case if missing any. Failing this will result in penalty of rs. 500 per day after the three working days. Another thing told was in case of deal cancellation from my side will lead to penalty of rs. 5000. With all this clauses, a commitment was also given that payment will be done instantly once the documents are submitted.

7. On the same day, with all above discussion, i along with cars24 realized that a couple of documents (Address proof and bank noc etc.) were missing to which i agreed to submit the next day and i left.

9th oct'19:

1. I visited again with the pending documents, gave them all the document and i was told to leave as the payment will be delivered in my bank account in next 48 hours. Trust me, i felt like that i have been cheated as the commitment was to make the payment instantly.

2. I raised the concern with cars24 officer there and he simply denied and told me that in case of instant payment there is a separate process which will again cost me money.

3. The behavior of the officer i met there was also not customer oriented.

4. Finally, i had to call their team lead to sort out the matter for me. He shown some level of sympathy and tried to sort the matter however it was too late by that time for him to coordinate with different stakeholders and get the work done for me.

5. While the lead was trying to help me, he found out a mistake done by the officer on 5th oct which added delay to the process.

Questions arise:
1. Why the officer on 5th oct make false commitments and silly mistakes while doing his work?
2. The price offered to me on 5th oct by officer was denied by other officer on very next day. This implies that the staff is not in sync
3. The officer on 9th oct committed that the previous officer dealing a day before does these kind of mistakes very often and usually gets a hit on his salary too.
4. The lead of the staff office committed that they do false commitments to meet their targets.

Final output, its consequences & my feedback:
1. The staff is only sales oriented and least bothered about customer satisfaction.
2. With all their false commitments, wrong data entries and their focus around sales, i had to waste two days, had to take leaves from office resulting in my salary deduction.
3. On the top of my salary deduction, i had a commitment at home to get a new car which was only possible with cars24 payment. I'd just say that you can buy car any day but some days are special in family and comes once a year. That day has gone for this year, i haven't got the payment. Still struggling with cars24.
4. No one from the staff in discussion has courtesy to at least give call back to customers with such cases and update them upfront with the progress.

With all the above listed factors, i would not recommend any car buyer/seller to contact cars24 as the staff sitting there are simply illiterate, least bother about their customers, their emotions and to the commitments they do while locking the deals for them. I'd simply call them frauds. They are the monkeyshines doing cheating with their own business and customers. Never ever visit to them.
