I also recieved a soft copy of the appointment letter for Sr. Admin officer in CALTEX Oil Company Ltd, Malyasia in the similar fashion but I am having a little confusion as to how they have selected even without telephonic interview. Apartfrom that the actual job profile andreporting authority's name and assignment has also not mentioned. generally such letters are being sent through official e-mail ID but this one which has been recieved is from G-mail ID,
Can anyone would suggest me what to do?

I just cant understand their intention, please anybody explain what they will get through this mails?

Hello,
I have also recieved an offer of emplyment via this method.
This is quite clearly a scam. The golden rule is "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is".
If you were a manager, would you employ a person without even talking to them?
I think this is a phishing scam, and they will ask for bank details (they will say they need to set up your first months pay).

I have also received the same likemail. However it is very strange that one can get such a high position lucrative job without any interview. Secondly i have known through net searching that it is unlawful for any company in Malaysia to employ a person who does not possess a valid malaysian visa and a work permit.Third that this offer is too high to believe.
So I am 100% sure that it is a scam.

Hi all
I also received this appointment letter. It's always flattering when it appears some wants you as an employee, but it is also unusual that, although I did fill out the questionaire, I never sent my CV as they mentioned. Dr Johnathon appears to be common amongst all recepients. What about that 2006 Toyota Camary they offered... what a deal. I requested a Mercedes!!!

Hi All,
This email is a spam because of 2 main reasons. First, no company in this world will select a candidate for mentioned "High Ranks" without some kind of interview or tests. Second reason, the guy sending these appointment letters is sending through a "GMAIL" account. How can you think of some recruiter or a consultant without his own email domain. Can you imagine Dr Jonathan Michael, so called "Head Recruitment Manager" sending appointment letters using a gmail account, a public email domain.
So these 2 reasons prove that this email is a spam.
Cheers :)

Hi Again,
I dont think its some problem with Caltex as a company, the problem is created by some third person who is trying to defame company's name. In future if somebody gets this kind of email, the first step should be to check details of email SENDER. If you think sender email address is genuin then second step is GOOGLE, if you can find some details of email. Mostly people around the world, post such events in their blogs. So going through the blogs is best to check whether email is genuin or not.
Cheers :)

1.Indian Government should have a mechanism to prevent this kind of fraudsters from fooling prospective& innocent job seekers.2. Appropriate punitive actions should be taken against the scammers. 3.Some govt. agency should verify and clarify these kinds of fictitious job offer.
