[Resolved] Apollo Hospital Bhubaneswar — Negligence and improper treatment | |||
I am a senior citizen of India. I had a horrible experience with the Apollo Hospital at Bhubaneswar yesterday. I, along with my wife, decided to go for a complete health checkup and contacted the Apollo hospital at Bhubaneswar. We were asked to report at the hospital at 7am. Accordingly,we reached there 5 minutes before the scheduled time. No one was there to book our request. It was at 7.20 that some one turned up and she asked to fill in the necessary forms etc. She was very cordial and helpful. She informed that the test may take about 4-5 hours and we would get the reports soon after that. Our reference numbers were:- ORB1.[protected] and ORB1.[protected] The trauma started once we were taken to different tests. We were the first ones to arrive at the hospital and so we should be given the first priority for various chech points. But when ever we were taken to a point for checks, we saw that people who arrived much later than us were given higher priorities. We had to wait for hours and hours for the tests. We were not even allowed to go out and have lunch. Some of our tests were completed at about 4pm and we were asked to still wait for some doctors were not available for tests like dental check-up. We had a very urgent work to attend to at 6pm and we requested that our reports may be handed over. It was at that point of time that we were informed that bio-chemical test reports have been received for me only and not for my wife. We went on running from pillar to post and requested to arrange for the same but every one we turned to turned a deaf ear at us. The persons at the desk were very rude and unpolite and they simply laughed at our plight. Finally, at about 6pm, we decided to approach the doctor-in-charge. She took a keen interest in us and tried to speak to the doctor and technicians of the lab. But even her requestes were not properly complied. We were really disheartened and we decided to come out with what ever report that were made available to us. It was 6.30 pm (12 hours since we reached the hospital). We were tired and hungry. The authoritied has milked 6000 rupees per person from us and had handed over incomplete reports. We decided not to approach such an uncivilised institution at any time in future. Due to the negligence and callousness and carelessness of the people at the hospital, I lost my valuable time and I could not get the reports too. Hence the hospital authorities may be advised suitable to stop harassing the people and to hand over the reports to me. Was this information helpful? | |||

apollo hospital bhubaneswar is the worst hospital, i have ever seen in my life...the behaviour of doctors specially a doctor from gastroenterology dept. they just want to pull money from innocent patients...and also showing rough behaviour to patients and their families..hoping that hospital administration we'll take necessary steps towards the doctor, for saving the reputation of the hospital

Sir My father who has been treated with heart surgery angioplast twice is being harassed since 10 years 2011 onwards by the cardiology department. He is under treatment under P K Sahoo so we are not able to go to other hospital as well.
My mother is being harassed too. The staff shouts and always gives them an appointment at the end. They sit there from 12-4 PM for an appointment. But they allow new patients before us. I am taking a stand against it and collecting evidence on how they exploit regular (10 years+ under treatment in Apollo BBSR) to go to the Press and the TV Channel. Please expose them always. Gather evidence, call logs, and pics (docs and others) and email in Twitter, Linkedin, to all press and apollo as well.
Patients are the fighters. We will fight till the end.

I went to Apollo hospital, Bhubaneswar for a complete health check up on 20 Oct. 2011. I paid Rs.6000 at the counter and the check ups were back to back and I was released around 1 PM. They advised me to collect the reports and talk to the consultant on the next day. The next day when I reached at the hospital, my reports were ready and I also talked to the doctor. She answered all my doubts and also suggested me some health tips. My reference number is ORB1.[protected] and my name is Nalinikanta Routray. I am planning for another complete health check up in coming January 2013. Thank you Apollo for the service.
I went to apollo hospital for my parents master health check up on 15th December 2012. We reached the hospital at around 10:00AM in the morning and told that all the tests would be complete by 6:00PM. I had to deposit the amount of Rupees 6, 000.00 for each of them.
We had to also face the same trauma and took a lot of times to complete the tests. My father had to wait for more than 6 hours to complete the tests in the cardiology department whose age is more than 60 and my mother had also made to waut for more than 4 hours in the cardiology department. People who had arrived late even for the master health check up were given higher priority than us. When we informed the matter with the staff their behavior was quite bad towards us.
I have made same kind of tests at Kolkata Apollo hospital and the tests have been completed in just 4 hours. I think that once the hospital gets the money from the patients they reallly do not care for value of life.

The basic thing some one would expect from a institution like Apollo is good and polite behavior to patients and families, otherwise what is the difference between Apollo and govt hospital ?
Dr. Subodh Das, Urologist at Apollo and now AMRI hospital Bhubaneswar has got to be the worst doctor ever. As an NRI Oriya looking for a good doctor to do my father's prostate surgery, I was initially happy to note that Apollo was now supposedly offering "world class healthcare" in Bhubaneswar. We consulted with Dr. Subodh Das several times, resulting in the surgery being done in May 2013. The surgery was a nightmare, both because of Apollo Hospital and the doctor's sheer incompetence and greed. First of all, Apollo doesn't have the best doctors or staff, even on a local level. There were not enough not nurses on the night shifts and they did not even change the catheter at the right time. The food provided was of very poor quality and came packaged in an unsafe manner. The technicians have no idea what they are doing and were unable to answer any questions. The photo attached shows the view from the window of our room and the open garbage dump within the premises, full of flies. Even though no doctor visited us each day, we were billed each day for 3-4 doctors and medicines that were unnecessary. The surgery cost us nearly Rs. 2 lakhs and my father has been suffering pain and discomfort ever since. Each time we went to Dr Das after the surgery, he kept saying that things would get better and kept changing my father's medication randomly, exposing him to multiple medicines with severe side-effects and without any warning. Urologist Dr. Subodh Das is a callous crook who tries to hide his own inability to perform the surgery correctly and provides no guidance to the patient. with each visit, he became more due and defensive. Finally, we sought an opinion from a renowned urologist in Delhi and after studying the reports before and after surgery and conducting his own tests, he concluded that Dr. Subodh Das had totally botched the surgery and not reduced the prostate size or median lobe at all. Moreover, he had injured several parts, which led my father to experience the discomfort that he did. I now have enough evidence to proceed against the butcher Subodh Das and am proceeding to file a case against him in consumer court. The day I get this quack Subodh Das to apologize at my father's feet, will be a great day in my life. Apollo Bhubaneswar is the worst hospital in odisha.they are simply cheater and always run behind money.the most worst us neurological department, Dr debabrata biswal and his team.my father was undergoing treatment and because of his negligence, he died. I found these guys always running behind money and the quality of treatment is worst there.I found doctors experience is not all up to the expectations. They can not examine patient properly and will tell you many story.if you want to save your patients life and money as well, then please never ever go there for any diseases.
Brajaraj das SR cardiologist in Apollo hospital is worst ever doctor.he killed my father.my father has no BP.after admitting him 24hr prior to operation for angiography also he is unable to operate him correctly.trial and error base angiography they are doing.in all reports he has written everything is normal.atlast he is writing suddenly BP goes down.so we are helpless.they should keep him under medication and observations at least for 1 week prior to angiography as per other doctors advice.apollo taken 2.5 lakh to give the dead body.simply business you people are doing.since that time my family is in great. Sock and trauma.i will never excuse u for your mistake.request to everyone to avoid this hospital.
Really stupid person.they are suggesting for angiography to earn money.because of these hospital and doctors like braja dash and g nayak total doctor frietarnity is blamed.whom we Will believe.govt should interfare in these cases.before angiography we have consulted three doctors.all said he can be cured as no major issues were there.suddenly during angiography all problem happened.it I due to failure in angiography.i know no body will listen my cry.but one thing I will say one day you people have to pay the price for this.god is there.just wait.
Doctors are writing prescription but the nursing department are not providing in time the medice that to it were written 4 times a day they are providing 3 times and when we enquired they are saying we have provided 4 times and you were not present at that time and also saying signature were used by them after proving each time medicine by there staff but this is not fair they are putting fake signature by internal staff and not providing medice as prescribed . Please take signature of patient's attendant after providing medice each and every time so that we can trust and yours doctor and name of your hospital will grow
I am currently waiting at the orthopaedic department Apollo hospital Bhubaneswar. The service here is very poor. The receptionist is letting the people go in 1st for the consultation...who came after us...when asked told me it's because they have a doctor's referral. Now come-on Apollo you can be better than this. People here pay a higher price for on time and good service..don't behave as if you are not aware what is right.
