[Resolved]  Auto Rickshaw Driver — Faulty Meter and dada giri

I take a rickshaw everyday from my home at Ghatkopar East to my office at Andheri Chakala... on 10th August 2009, I hired a rickshaw MH 03 - R - 6494. from office to home at around 4.20 pm. Traffic at this time is really low. I have an estimate of the figure that the meter reads at main junctions during the journey because I have been travelling for almost a year and a half every day. At peak traffic between Chakala and Sakinaka it would read somewhere between 2.30 to 2.70 on the meter. On this day inspite of no traffic, it read 3.00 on the meter which is seven rupees above average. I would have thought a 2.00 should have been the case as the traffic was extremely less. I told the driver then that I think his Meter is faulty, but he didnt respond. usually rickshaw walas know if their meter reads less or more. In cases where the meter reads less I usually give the normal fare to the rickshaw driver. I assumed that the guy know the problem with his meter and he would charge me appropriately on reaching my destination. By the time i reached home it showed. 7.40 on the meter. This is never the case even in Peak traffic. I tried to make sense with him but he refused to budge.. Did dadagiri and spoke very rudely. Ultimately I had to pay the price on the faulty meter. But I do not want other people to get cheated by this rickshaw driver. What can I do to see that he doesnt cheat other people?

Auto Rickshaw Complaint — Faulty meter reading and driver rude

I boarded an auto from my home to my office and noticed that it hardly crossed 1 km that the meter reading started changing from Rs. 14. WhenIi reached my destination found that the meter reading was Rs.35. I am regular auto traveller in this route ie., from my home to my office, which is hardly Rs.25. When I told the autodriver that I'm regularly travelling in this route and its onyl Rs.25 but the meter reading shows Rs. 35. Driver became rude and telling why telling lie, then could have have told that its just Rs. 20, and also told that I could have told that the amount is Rs.25 before boarding the auto. I told him that he sould have told me that the meter reading is faulty and whatever the meter reading shows I have to pay him. Arguement continued for a while and atlast he asked me to give Rs.30. which I had to give. Please take necessary actions. Vehicle number - KA 03B 6761

Faulty Meter — Auto Rickshaw Driver's faulty meter

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please note that auto rickshaw number MH-03-R-7432 is using a faulty meter. 1st he was trying to take me to a longer route thinking that am new to Mumbai and he can easily take me for a ride and when I intervened, he kept on arguing with me and when I checked his meter, I found that its running very very fast. I questioned him and he was speechless and so I got down from his auto and took down his number.

Please do the need full asap coz this auto drivers are just cheating their customers left, right and center .
