[Resolved]  Bajaj / Shree Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. / Pulsar 220 Cc — Delay in service/faulty part replacement delay

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to bring to your notice some real problems faced by me due to delay in providing me with faulty part replacement by the Bajaj showroom (Shree Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., G.S. Road, Paltan Bazar, Guwahati, Assam). I bought a Bajaj Pulsar 220 cc motorcycle on 10/04/2010. The very first day when I rode the bike to my residence, I found out that the bike engine shuts down automatically while riding particularly with slowing down where I lower the throttle and put on brake. I thought at that time that maybe the fuel carburetor is not properly tuned, and as I am riding the first time, it may be due to that. Unfortunately, I found the same problem everyday and finally decided to go to the showroom service center where fix the problem. I went there before my first service was due and brought the problem to a showroom's mechanic notice. He checked for some time but was unable to diagnose the problem. The problem was so severe that slight jerk to the bike will make the engine shut down. So, I thought to bear with the problem until the first service was due. I went for first servicing (free) on 17/05/2010, 10 am (kilometers run at that time was 326 km). They looked and tried to solve the problem that day but could not. I was kept on wait the whole day and informed in the evening by the mechanic to leave and come the next day as he is unable to solve the problem and will check again and solve the problem. I got a call from them the next day that there is some carburetor issues with the bike and it will be replaced free of cost and it will take around 3 days. I agreed and told them that it is fine and I will wait for those days. I also went to the service center to confirm the report and the mechanic told me that it is true that the carburetor is not functioning well and the problem will be solved if the carburetor is replaced. After 3 days, when I got no calls from the service center, I called them and asked them about it but got no solid answer from them. I waited for some more days and finally on 24/05/10, after one week, I went inquiring about the bike. They informed me that they are yet to receive the faulty part (carburetor) from the company and told me to wait for 3-4 days more. I disagreed to that offer and told them that I didn't purchase the bike to keep it in the service center. I purchased that for some purpose and I facing a great deal of problem due to nonavailability of the bike. Finally, I informed them that I am going to take the bike for now and told them to inform me when the part arrives so that I can come and have it replaced. I was about to leave with the bike when the Service Section Manager requested me to not to take the bike as it is not in a condition to ride due to that problem and continued self-start may damage the self also. This is true. He also informed me that the General Manager of Shree Automobiles is going to Kolkata and along with him another person of the Company is going and told me that that person will bring the faulty part along with him who is supposed to come that day itself by evening. I went to GM along with the Service Manager to confirm the information. I had a chat with the GM and he even showed me his Air Ticket. I thought this time they are not going to delay the delivery of the bike and I thought of getting the bike by 26/05/10 evening. Unfortunately, I did receive any call from them till now, 27/05/10, 8:30 am. I also booked a complaint with the Bajaj Customer Care. The complaint number is CR-43585 on 24/05/10. The customer service representative told me that within 48 hours they will get in touch with me and solve the problem, but till now I got no response from Bajaj Customer Care as well.

So, the issue here is that I am having a great deal of problem due to bike and I do not think that it is justified from both the Showroom and the actual company (Bajaj Automobiles) sides for delay in replacing the faulty part. I have every right to get it fixed without delay. I got reassurances from almost every personnel including the General Manager of the company (Shree Automobiles Pvt. Ltd.) but they failed to solve my problem.

Therefore, I think the delay is not justified at all and the showroom is harassing me because of. I therefore claim remedy to my problem as soon as possible.

bajaj auto/Pulsar — about the service

I have registered the complaint in bajaj auto regarding my bike problem in piston and horn and complaint no 17283 but there is no response from there side and service manager Mr B.M singh of shiva bajaj denies me to giving me services.
so please sort out the problem as immediately as possible.
