[Resolved]  Bmtc — Abusive conductor

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

Hi,
My name is Pallavi. I have traveled in the BMTC Vajra service since last week between Ragi Gudda and J. P. Morgan chase on Outer Ring Road. Today however, since I was late to work I took a normal BTS bus that said Tin Factory. While buying the ticket I asked for J. P. Morgan Chase, the conductor, a lady, gave me the ticket and said it's called Kadubeesanahalli not J.P. Morgan Chase. I understood that as the name of the stop being Kadubeesanahalli. I accepted the ticket and sat down.
I was not aware that these stops are not the same. When we neared J.P.Morgan Chase, since the bus did not stop, I asked the driver if he would stop so I could get off, he told me there is no designated stop there and I would have to get off in the next stop. This I have no problem with but I looked at the conductor and asked her why she did not tell me this when I was boarding the bus, she told me I did tell you it was Kadubeesanahalli. But I said I did not know these stops were not the same since it was my first time on a BTS. She said she couldn't care if I was that stupid. I had to get off earlier to get to my work place. She then proceeded to make fun of the fact that I was listening to my mobile so I was probably deaf and that I was blind as well. She then went on to call me a "###" in Kannada and when I was getting off the bus threatened to teach me a lesson. Nobody including the driver intervened when this was happening and after I did get off the bus at Marath halli bridge, she still proceeded to call me some obscene words in Kannada while everyone just looked on.
This has been a severely traumatic experience for me and I am still shaking as I write this. I will consider legal action against the conductor if BMTC does not take action against her. The bus drove off too fast for me to note down its route number. But the vehicle number is KA 01 FA 1465. I think the route number is D 12. I got on the vehicle at around 10 40 AM at Ragi gudda and got off around 11 30 AM at Marathalli bridge today Aug, 1 2011.
I am genuinely unaware of bus stops since the Vajra buses don't really announce the stops and the conductors are courteous enough to tell you when your stop is nearing.
I am willing to identify the conductor if necessary. As I said I am considering legal action as well as talking to the press on how this is such a menace to society.
Please let me know how to proceed.
Thanks,
Pallavi

BMTC & Vajra Buses — Rash Driving

The following buses were driving very rashly on the Old Airport Rd (heading towards Marathalli) dtd 14th Oct 08, Approx 8.50 AM. Both the buses were racing & were changing lanes without any regard to other vehicles around & even scraped past my car in the process. The 1st bus in this context is a Vajra Bus No KA 01 FA 1279. The 2nd bus in context is a BMTC bus No KA 53 1788. This utter disregard of traffic rules must not be tolerated.

BMTC — Conductors don't give tickets and they are abusive

On 18th Dec, 2009, I had traveled in a BMTC bus where in the conductor refused to give me my bus ticket till the end. My ticket charged 6Rs and I didn't have the exact change so gave a 100 Rs note. He was already complaining and grumbling that he didn't have change to give me and returned 95rs. I knew he wouldn't give me the ticket and found a 1 re coin in my purse and told him to give me the ticket. He gives a terrible look and signals me to wait. I stressed again saying take this one re and give me the ticket. He stared at me so rudely as though i did some crime. In fact i told him that there might be a ticket checking so give me the ticket and he coolly brushed passed me and said no one would check. These conductors are so argumentative and don't know how to speak. When there is a ticket checking, the authorities catch the passengers and don't say anything to the conductors. Conductors don't give us the ticket not that the passengers don't want to take a ticket. This is like a regular harassment in the bus.I would like the officials to do something about this. KA 01 FA1868 was the bus I traveled on 18th Dec 2009 from Vaidehi to Kundhalahalli Colony (Bus number was a 335 series, not sure).
this is a routine affair for the staff of btmc volvo bus drivers and conductors on itpl route
I would like to bring to notice the shameful behavior of BMTC conductor who was abusive towards fellow passengers, refused to cooperate, talked rashly with a female co passenger. When I asked for change in return, the conductor refused to offer the change(he could have told before hand he did not have change in which case a passenger might not have boarded the bus) and started abusing. He refused to talk/did not know hindi(Official and national language of India) with another passenger and again started abusing when he asked for pending Rs.10 in return. There was one more incident in which the conductor just gave a Rs.100 note and told 2 passengers to settle the change amount among st them and when both passengers refused they were forcefully made to get down two stops after their scheduled destination and needless to say he still did not budge and did not give away the change. Yes all this happened during my short trip from cosmos-kundanahalli to bellandur. It will be a disgrace on BMTC's part if such individuals are let off without any punishment. The crew should be counselled on how to behave with fellow passengers.BMTC already has a negative image due to such corrupt individuals and if no action is taken it will only further consolidate BMTC's deteriorating image and along with it spoil Bangalore's image in eyes of people.
