[Resolved]  Cochin Corporation — Equal Vote Rights to Ladies in Apartment Association in Cochin

Respected Sir/ Madam
I am an NRI citizen and due to the escalated economic recession, forcefully had to accommodate family in an apartment in Cochin Corporation. It was known that an Association, formed under the guidelines stipulated in Bye Laws, governed by a person authorized by the Government by notification in the Gazette, monitor the functioning of the Apartment in Cochin Corporation.

In the recent developments in the Apartment complex, it was noticed that an Association formed with Male Domination, is deliberately avoiding the participation of Ladies, who are the back bone of a family. As all are aware that ladies face lot of issues, being present in apartment 24/7 with their male counterpart’s less involvement in the premises during day hours, being in offices. It’s a desperate situation in our Apartment that ladies Grievances are sidelined, with male occupying 15 out of 16 seats in the Association. The ladies are discouraged to be a member, as meeting are conducted in night hours.

It’s an earnest request of your participation in this matter and depute an official to amend the Byelaw approved by Corporation, that there must be equal participation of Ladies in association with all activities of Association to be restricted to day hours and the ladies must be treated with dignity and respect.
