[Resolved]  Election Commission Of Karnataka — Issue with local Election Commision part of BBMP

Greetings!

I am residing in Bangalore for the past 4 years and I live the mentioned address past 15 months. I have submitted Form-6 (voters-ID) application at corporation office located near near Marathahalli Signal voters 7 times and finally I found my name listed (spelled incorrectly) in the website. I visited corporation office again 3 weeks ago requesting that my name and my wife name has come but some spelling mistakes are there. Then they asked me to contact Mahadevpura special EC counters and they will correct it and issue the card immediately. Then we visited Mahadevapura office EC counters and I showed the print out of the name search from bangaloreveotersid.org website and explained the spelling corrections needed. They said that I have to go back to Marathahalli office and submit a fresh form and they will in turn forward the application to them later. I told that I have submitted 7 times overall and then finally, my particulars are spelled incorrectly. I asked question that my particulars are with you and for corrections why do I have to submit a fresh Form-6 again but website says to submit Form-8.

You can submit your application in relevant forms to RO/ARO in revision 2008 process
• To Enroll Form-6
• To Correct details in your existing card Form 8
• For shift in your C Form 8A.
• To Delete name Form 7
The concern person in the EC special counter said we don’t know all the information you are saying but we were told to submit fresh application. Then we (I and my wife) came back to Marathahalli office and explained the whole thing, they said again that I have to submit Form-8 in Mahadevapura counter. I told that you people told me to go to mahadevapura and they are saying I need to submit in Marathahalli and I shouted that the basic information act in India is not working. The responsible officers are misguiding the citizens. Then I went once again to Mahadevapura office and they were making me and my wife as fun (mentioning others this couples have come again and ……) I was really frustrated and I told that it is not fun we took permission from work for 2 hours initially and now we are forced to take the entire day off. But still the required work is not done but you people are making fun o[censored]s. Again I told the same folks about the Marathahalli visit and they said the same thing again. I went upstairs to the EC office and only front OA or someone was there and the office looked empty. I explained to that person and he was helpless and I asked him to give the DC or Commissioner’s number and I need to talk to them. They refused to give the number. Then again I visited to BBMP office and met one of the deputy commissioners and explained my frustration. After that he asked his OA to bring one of the members of special EC counter and fired them on the whole episode. With that help they asked me to submit Form-8 (correction form). It is now 3 weeks since I have submitted the correction form but till now the correction is not done.

Questions:

1. Why my corrections are not done till now?
2. Form-6 does not have any accountability. It does not have any serial number and the consumer cannot get hold of the officer for any accountability. Why can’t they feed the data in front of the consumer and provide computerized receipt or enter this information to manual register and provide manual receipt to hold them responsibility?
3. Why the officers are are providing incorrect information to consumers and sending them inappropriately? Put enough information displayed in multiple languages (state language, Hindi and English)
4. Who is going to pay off the delay and/or frustration caused to the consumer?

I am herewith furnishing the required screenshots for the your reference.

Thanks,
Jeyaram.
