Dear Sir,

Kindly accept my apologies for writing this matter to you! I have no other way.

I am currently working in Saudi Arabia. My wife and children hold a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia, which is valid for a for few week more.

Unfortunately, my wife's passport submitted to RPO Guwahati on 04 December 2009 is still not returned to us. ( Submission Ref. GUW-M[protected] : NABANITA BHUYAN MATHEW). The service requested is not renewal of the passport. Her passport was actually issued in Riyadh on 21 Jan 2007 ( # F2839852), but only needed an extension of validity. The fees for full validity of 10 years have been levied on submission in Riyadh. I am afraid if the passport is held for indefinite period like this, there is greater risk of her visa getting expired.

It is unthinkable that a service like this takes almost 5 months or more! If my wife can't travel this month to Riyadh, my children also will not be able to travel. That means all the visas of my family will be canceled due to expiration. Getting new visas for family is really very difficult and expensive procedure in Saudi Arabia. Not only that, the tickets for their journey must be used before a certain date, and after that they can’t be used.


Their return trip is booked for end of April. So it's very urgent to get the passport back.

We have sent relatives to check this issue but it’s difficult to get an answer from any of the staff at the counter of RPO at Guwahati. Telephones keep ringing but nobody picks up at RPO. Email communication is rarely read or replied.

Considering the urgency, I suggest that at least they can process it on TATKAL PRIORITY BASIS...

Please help us. We have no time to lose. Please advise.
