India Today Book Club - Reebok Fitness Kit — Denying that the payment was made (credit card) and refusing to refund the amount against cancellation

Inspite of attaching a file consisting of credit card statement with details of payments for all the orders that I have palced, the company sends me mail which reads like this;
"With reference to your mail we would like to inform you that we have not receive your payment against this order and this order is on “cash on delivery” mode so if you have paid then kindly provide us your postal receipt."
When there is a clear mention of the payment made in the cc statement, how can the company deny that they have not received the payment. Probably the concerned people were careless and filed to read the contents of the attachment.
I am becoming extremely impatient because already four months have passed from the day of placing the order. I have now concluded that the company is not trustworthy and even if some of the products they sell are good, consumers should be careful before doing business with the company. Similar complaints have also been posted in this same forum.

India Today Book Club — Non-Reversal of Order amount

This is in reference to India Today book club reference ITBC 09902342. I had placed an order for a pair of shoes and a watch in feb,2009.I got the delivery in mid April 2009 that is after 1.5 months.
Even worse that the shoe size ordered was 10 whereas the one sent was of size 8. The order had correctly captured the shoe size and it was a mistake while processing the order.

I called up and cancelled the the order. Since then I have made almost 20 calls (each of minimum duration 10 mins) and still my money hasnt been refunded. I spoke to Jeetendar Kumar Thakur, who promised that the money would be refunded ASAP. Even emailed all the details to him the same day.

When I called yesterday again, I was told that they havent received the package back. I called up BLUE DART (Unique Reference for the consignment is [protected] on April 21, 2009)and they tell me that the package was delivered to ANJU, India today Book Club on 22 April, 2009 at 2:40 PM. They cant provide POD for consignments older than 3 months.

Kindly refund my amount ASAP. I had attached the return courier bill with the package for a refund as it cost me another 350 RS.

Kindly look into this ASAP!!!

Reebok Kit — Payment

An order was booked on 29th October 2009 - Booking Ref given as[protected].

Received a call on 31st Oct. for confirmation and payment. - Payment made by citiban card for Rs. 3199/- and booking/ payment ID given as 220068.

Today have received the SMS tha kit will be delivered against order no. ORA[protected]PA for shipment throgh Bluedart and asked to keep payment of Rs. 3199/- ready in cash.

Payment is already made and its 2 weeks now. The item is ot delivered and asking payment again???

Reebok Kit — Delays and delays....

I had ordered a Reebok kit through India today book club a month ago and still did not got its delivery....is this a way?They say that it would be delivered in a weeks time but in reality that time does never come....it is really an element of shame for such reputed group...My order no. is OGA[protected]...I want them to look into this matter as soon as possible...

i ordered 4 no. of Reebok kit & payment made through visa card.my booking id is[protected]'[protected] two no. on dt. 3/1/2010 and one id[protected] on dt. 6/1/2010 and last one is[protected] on dt.7/1/2010. i received two last id's kit on dt. 19th . i am not receiveing first two bookings kits.

India today book club - Reebok fitness kits — Delay in reversal of payment

I had ordered 6 Reebok packs through 4 different orders for which the payment was made through credit card (SBI). Later on, 2 orders for 4 Reebok fitness pack were cancelled and reversal of payment was sought. A call was made to the helpline number[protected] on the 15th of January to know the status (Orders were placed on 12th December 2009 and the cancellation was also made on the same day). Strangely, I was told that it was not yet cancelled. Then I was told that the order for reversal of payment was generated on 22nd of January 2010 and that I would get the refund within 22 days. After not getting the refund even after 22 days, I called the helpline number and was told that It woould take 15 days more for refund. Again it was strange that order for reversal of payment was generated for only one order (of 3 packs) eventhough instruction was given for reversal of payment for both the orders that I had placed. Phone calls to the helpline number have not solved the problem. Even emails to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com have not solved it. Actually, very rarely I get a response through mail eventhough India Today Book Club claims that it would promptly reply within 48 days.

Inspite of several calls to the helpline number[protected], reversal of payment has not been made yet. Cancellation of the order was done on 12th Dec 2009 itself. There was no response from the company also. Only after posting the complaint in this forum on 27th February 2010, a mail was received by me on the same day informing me that the reversal of payment would be processed in a short period. Strangely, on 24th of March 2010, i got a call from the company regatding the same orders. It is asking me whether I have received the Reebok fitness kits which I had cancelled. Now they say that they were made as cash on delivery. The amounts for all the orders have been debited from my credit card account. A copy of the cc statement was also sent to the company long back. But the company is still dilly dallying. I was also told by the company man yesterday (24th March) over phone that I would get a mail regarding this the same day. I have not received the same even today. I also don't know about the two comlaints I had lodged with the company (complaint numbers; 384390 and 384401). Anyone who wants to transact any business with the ITBC, beware !!!

India Today Book Club — Delay in Payment reversal

I have made 2 purchases from India Today Book Club on May 25th. Membership number - ITBC10322138.

Details follows.
Order value- 7,498.00 * 2

This was based on a statement from the executive, Mr. Suraj Srivastava on 21st April that I have won cash prize of Rs. 4,50,000.
Then realizing that I was cheated, I tried to cancel the order. When I caled the call center, the response was that the product is already delivered and I need to reject the courier.
The courier reached here by 5th of June and I rejected those. s


Then I called call center several times and the answer was the payment will be reverted in 20 days. Even the mails were not responded.

Now the calls are dropped by the executives, when I call from known numbers.
I have spent mearly Rs. 1000 calling these people.
This indicates that India Today are professional frauds and beggars. Hope they will make their name internationally soon.

I have made a purchase on 22nd April ( HTC Phone )
Details follows.

Booking id[protected]
Order value- 19498.00

This was based on a statement from the executive on 21st April that I have won cash prize of Rs. 1, 00, 000.
I have not received the product yet.

Again I got a call on 25th of May by 11:15 from Mr. Suraj Srivastava.
I made 2 purchases of value Rs. 7, 498.00. One philips photophrams and a portable DVD player.
The booking Id given are as follows[protected],[protected].

After the purchase I got a call from Suraj again and informed the following
1. I have won Rs. 4, 50, 000. He gave me cheque details, clearing number and locking number.
2. If somebody calls for purchase, telling you have won prize, you need not do it, and tell them that you got the locking Id.
3. A confirmation mail will be sent to me in short time.

I have not received the mail yet.

I called the customer care[protected], yesterday ( 28th May ) to get the details of the orders.

But those booking Ids are not in my name.


Please cancel all these orders and give me the refund at the earliest.

From this date nothing have been done by India Today to solve this problem.
On calling the customer care they told me to reject the courier to cancel the orders. As I was ready to take the phone, I accepted that courier and rejected the rest two. Rest is told already.


Today ( 26th august ) I called customer care[protected] the executive connected to some senior person and he made me hold the call for 12 minutes and told that they will call back in 24 -48 hours. Yesterday, when I told then regarding the money spend by me for calling them, the answer was, "You are calling from your office, no. So why are you bothering about money". Is this the way to talk to a customer. As I told them I called from my home they stopped that. Again these people are trying to cover up their guiltiness by telling something. I have never face such humiliation from any sort of service providers who gave service to me.

Please take necessary action on this

Why shall we have a common petition filed against India Today Book Club?

The company is not providing payment for a period of 3months.no assured response from the part of tycoons.the told they are changing the business plan focused on ooty project .but sill no idea about our money.the told they will repay it soon.
