[Resolved] Indian Passport Office — delay of passport renewal | |
I have applied for my indian passport renewal from the VFS indian passport office in Melbourne on the 17th March 08 . I read in the website that it takes 45 days for the renewal. I have to leave for UK on the 28th May 08 and i dont have a passport yet to apply for the UK visa. On calling the consulate general India, Melbourne, they say that the passport is still somehwhere in India and has not yet reached them . I am very upset about this, becoz this delay is going to cost me more than 10, 000 AUD if i cancel my UK trip in end May08 and also i will be losing my final attempt for my royal colege exam in medicine. i have the same problem here. i have sent my passport on april23 and today is may 29th . in the application its says for express service which is 3 to 4 business days and i have sent extra $20 for express mail. and now i dont know where iam. i call them 3 times and everytime it takes more then 1 hour to get to them on the phone after a long long wait. and they dont have answers. if there is someone who can do something to improve this process that person will be higly apperciated my thousands of indian who are suck . and i have also hurd that they only have 2 plople working in the customer service " GOD BLESS INDIAN OFFICE"

But no one picks the call and there is no response. i am trying to reach them to findout the status but there is no website to check the status nor some one picks the call. how to know where my passport is? Please need help on this. Where in the website it says it takes 7 working days for renewal.

I applied for my passport renewal on 04-06-08, with file no.- H009742, group-H, key no.- [protected]. Its been one & a half month, i havent received it. The expected date of delivery on the slip is within 90 days. The status on the website states Police report cleared. However, till date have not received my Passport. I have applied for passport in Sep'08 from Guntur. My application has been forwarded to Hyderabad in Oct'08 . My file no is "W120209". Currently I am working in Bangalore. I have to go to abroad immediately on company's assignment. The status of my passport is now showing as "POLICE VERIFICATION REPORT IS INCOMPLETE AND THE ISSUE IS BEING EXAMINED". I have provided all the required information along with my passport application.
I really don't understand what would have happened to it. Kindly look in to this matter and update me the status as soon as possible.
