George — Unauthorised payment from my credit card

I was actually made transaction for $4.87 for 3 day trial version on 04-02-09 evening. Since it was a porn site I had cancelled the membership on 07-02-09 in the afternoon

Even after cancelling my membership I have been charged with $39.73 extra which I have never authorised.

I complain for an amount of $39.73 against Megadownloadpass for unathorised payment from my credit card.

Please credit $39.73 to my credit card account as soon as possible

Regards

Dear George,

Tfhe first action you should take to disenable your card. Call the card provider and tell them to deactivate your credit card and issue a new card. A lot of frauds are happenning with credit card payments abroad. They ask for CVV 3 digit number. Credit card provider should have instructed you not to provide this number. Since you have already provided, they will further debit more amounts to your card. Please avoid any transactions abroad when this 3 digit number has to be disclosed. Even Pay pal demands it. I dont think you stand any chance of getting back the amount of $39.73 since this has been remitted to the fraudulant person and credit card provider has no right to alter the terms and honour this transaction. They are not to be blamed for this transaction.

I called the number[protected] and had to wait for about 10 minutes. At around 8 minutes the waiting music stopped and I continued to wait.

Once they answered the phone I told them that I never agreed to sign up for that service at which point they claimed that I did. After about a minute of going back and forth I asked for the manager in which I had to wait for about 1 minute or so.

The same guy got back on the phone I was told I would be refunded for 1 month of the service in which I told them that I wanted all 3 months back. We went back and forth and I asked for the manager again and he said "He doesn't want to talk to you". At that point I told them that I would be calling the Attorney General's Office at which point he said he'd talk to the manager again.

Once he got back after a min or so he said I would get all my money back. Don't settle for partial payment back or for an extended trial.
I just found the charges on my account also. I was wondering if there is a VERY small print on their site that says if you use their service to find a number (which I did, but thought I was only paying a one-time fee of $4.99) that you automatically sign up for monthly payments! I am writing to them now and they are now saying that my email address isn't even in their files.

I suggest writing a post on Rip Off Report. It won't help us now, but maybe someone else will see it and be forewarned.
After checking my bank statement, I noticed a charge for the same thing everyone else is complaining about. I called the same phone number, with the same waiting results. After calmly stating my complaint about the possible unauthorized charge, the gentleman I was conversing with, tracked the information I gave him, and it turns out I did authorize it. It comes about when you sign up for a service directed towards trying to find somebody. The gentleman was cordial, and even refunded my money without me even asking. This was in respect to the fact that it was in error on both sides. Just be polite in dealing with them, and they will work with you.
My name is kimberly ryan and I would like the carges you put on my card taken off asap. I want my money back I did not sign up for this service.
My name is Kimberly Ryan, I've tried calling you people at 9:00am and there was no answer just alot of ringing. I want my money put back on my card or I'm calling the better business bureau. I tried calling this #[protected].
i want my money back too. i did not give my AUTHORIZATION for you to take this out of my bank.
I can see now I am not the only person to be "had", which makes me feel better. I REFUSE to wait for hours to talk to someone...The money came off my paypal card so I am opening an affidavit with them. This company owes me 39.90!! I am moving in 4 days and that money was suppose to go to the truck rental. So I am super angry. Wish me luck!
I requested reverse phone look-up recently at intelius, that is $0.99, but they charged me additional $19.95 on my credit card. I called the company[protected], and they said there is second page on the online payment that shows $19.95 charged for service. I told them that all I agree is to pay $0.99 that is in the final payment confirmation online page. They are unwilling to refund back to my credit card. Finally, I told them I will file a complaint to Attorney General at Washington State (thank to Jerry Ramirez for this helpful information). and within a moment they said they will refund to me in 7-10 business days.

I will continue to monitor my credit card account in next 7-10 days to make sure the refund of $19.95 is there.
This is long but hope it will help somebody out there:

I too received a deduction from my account. I did make two authorized purchases from the Intellis website earlier this month; however I did not 'knowingly' authorize the ID Protect for a monthly fee of $21.81. Here is what my bank statement shows: DBT PURCHASE ON 08/16 @ 07:06 / CHECK CARD INT*IDPROTECT MNTR[protected] WA CARD NBR: - 0000.

I called the above number, selected #2 for ID Protect, waited for about 5 minutes or so with music - then the music stopped and I held for another 15 minutes with dead silence. Finally a representative answered. I very calmly told him that there was an unauthorized withdrawal made from my account. He asked me for my e-mail address, then he asked that I verify my name and city. I did so. He then went through the authorized purchases and explained that when I did the first .99 cent request I also signed up for the ID Protect. I told him that I did not sign up for it and I did not authorize the withdrawal. He then went on to ask how I monitor my credit, etc. I told him that I get my credit information directly from the credit bureaus and that I work at an attorneys office. (both are true but one has nothing to do with the other). He said, 'oh okay, I will cancel your subscription".

Then I asked how long before I would see the refund and he said that he could only cancel the subscription because I "DID" sign up for it. I told him that I absolutely did not - and that if the company does not refund my money that I will be making a complaint to both the FCC and the Better Business Bureau. He said, okay, your money will be refunded in 3-5 business days. I made him confirm the amount which was $21.81. He gave me a confirmation number.

Be sure to ask for their Name and their representative ID. Be sure you document everything so that if the time comes you have the proof your conversation. I was nice with the guy and told him that I was not angry with him but with the company. He said he understood and that he knows, he deals with it all day.

Hope this helps, good luck! Now hopefully they WILL refund my money, this is so irritating!

p.s. I also called my bank to let them know that the withdrawal was not authorized. They said I could lodge a complaint but to stop the payments from coming through I would have to get a new VISA number (which is a pain).
i never give these people any word i dont even know who they are, and for them to go into my account and take money out i think they need to be report to the better business bueru.
Company name showed on my statement is:INT*IDPROTECT MNTR SVC ThEcharge of $19.95 just showed up on my credit card statement. I don't even know who this company is or what they claim they sell. Don't have any idea how they got a hold of my card information. But I certainly did NOT authorise this charge and have already filled a dispute claim...
I am disabled and on a fixed income. I found my account in the red because of a $19.95 charge from this crappy company. I called the 877 number and let them have it. They said they were going to refund my money. SEVEN days its going to take!!

Beware of People searches that require money. THAT is how they got me.
I read my statemen in my bank and see :INT*IDPROTECT MNTR SVC ThEcharge of $19.95 just showed up on my debit card statement. I don't even know who this company is or what they claim they sell. Don't have any idea how they got a hold of my card information. But I certainly did NOT authorize this charge and have already filled a dispute claim.
I need any person explain me what to do in my case. thank you
this company are pirate in the web, they stealed my money without permission.
I just noticed the same charge of $19.95 on my charge/debit card, and I googled the number and found this website. Which by the way, I would like to thank all of you for posting your experiences with them because I did exactly what you stated and I am supposedly getting a refund in 5-7 business days.
I called their customer service #[protected], and I was on hold for about 10 minutes. I spoke to a Michael, rep ID # 8051, and he seemed really nice at first, but when I explained that I had only signed up for the $1.95 search, he stated that that was a special price, and why would anyone offer a special price on something if there was nothing else involved. I told him that I thought it was a special price, like a sale. I said when you go to the store and you purchase something that is on sale the store does not have a hidden agenda behind it.
He tried to make me sound like an , which I am not. Then I stated that I wanted to speak to a manager, and he said that there wasn't one there, and went on to tell me how this monthly charge is posted all over the website. I told him I don't care where it is posted, that is not what I purchased.
I then said that I want to speak to a manager right now and don't tell me that there isn't one there, and I want my money back or I am going to file a complaint with the Attorney General and the BBB. All of a sudden he said let me see what I can do for you, he put me on hold, and came back a few minutes later and said that I will have my refund in 5-7 business days.
He gave me a confirmation #, I asked for his name again, and his rep ID #, and the total of the refund.
I still think that we should file a class action suit for the stress, time, and inconvenience of the entire ordeal. What if our bank accounts went into the negative because they took out this unauthorized debit, we would then also be responsible for insufficient funds fees!
I will post another message to let all of you know whether or not I received my refund.
Has anyone gotten theirs back?
