[Resolved]  MakeMyTrip (India) Pvt. Ltd — Inefficient Services

This mail is to bring to your kind attention the severe inconvenience suffered by me and my wife due to our flight bookings through Makemytrip.

We booked our travel through makemytrip - booking numbers are 3TU22B and 3TU22D.

The initial confusion was created due to the inadequate information on the E-ticket. The E-ticket referred to our flight as being an Emirates flight, whereas it was a Jet operated flight so we were shuttling between terminal A and C at the Mumbai airport.


It took about 30 mins to clarify this confusion, even your helpline people were confused about the status of the operating flight.

Further the authorities at the Mumbai airport told us that there was a mistake in the booking and that we would not be able to travel on that ticket.

They told us that there wasnt any booking for the eticket number for the 29th and the ticket number was showing as invalid on their system. I have attched a print out which the official from Mumbai gave us to prove that makemytrip had made a mistake in the booking which caused the delay due to which we missed the flight o Dubai.

The official from Jet had told us that he could arange for us to travel to Dubai on a jet ticket, if we could get the journey from Dubai to Boston confirmed from United.
I called on the makemytrip India number and they said they could not do anything for us and that there was a separate department handling this who would call us in a few hours. However, we were at the airport with no cellphone in India. They gave us a number for United Airlines in Mumbai which we called. However, no one answred those numbers.

Then, I called the makemytrip US number and talked to Malcolm, who was extremely unhelpful. He told us that there could not be anything done. We asked him if he could somehow arrange for a new ticket or at least put us on a different flight from Dubai to Boston so that we could avail the flight which Jet would provide to us to Dubai. But he said we will have to pay $1500 for each ticket again. He was extremely rude and said he could not help us at all.

Ultimately, we had to buy fresh tickets at the Bombay airport from Delta airlines. These tickets werent easy to get as well and we had to wait till everyone else checked in to know if there were seats available for us. We paid $690 per ticket.

I request makemytrip to reimburse the entire amount of 1400 of our tickets including overseas calls to makemytrip US office. Please get back to me as soon as you can with your answer.

Available documents to prove our case:

1. Document given by the official in Mumbai (which are missing eticket number and which cause the confusion)
2. Proof of purchase of fresh tickets from Delta
3. Transcript of the chat with a rep regarding this issue
4. Makemytrip ticket with misleading ticket information.

Kindly note that your transaction was unsuccessful on the MakeMyTrip website. This means that no money was debited by MakeMyTrip from your account.

It is possible that your bank has blocked the amount but not deducted it from your account. In this case, the bank will auto-reverse the money to your account between 7 and 14 business days. For further follow up on this, you will need to contact your bank directly.

MakeMyTrip has not received any payment for your transaction.

Make My Trip — Inefficient Service

Hi

On 27th January 2010 I booked my onward and return journey ticket from Bangalore to Mantralayam road using makemytrip . After the payment of money, for booking of railway ticket, the tickets were not booked due to a some technical error on makemytrip end, but the amount for ticket was deducted from my bank account. I have been contacting them for last 5 days, they tell me to send my bank statement. Next day when I call them they say they have not received the mail or the bank statement should be in PDF format , etc . I have not received any sort of communication from them till date. What shoul I do
