SWFIT LXI — REPLACEMENT
10th May, 2009To,
The Director,
M/s T.R. Sawhney Motors Pvt. Ltd.,
Saraswati Vihar, Delhi
Subject: Replacement of Vehicle Viz. DL5C D-9303—Request thereof
Dear Sir,
This is to bring to your kind notice that the above subject vehicle was purchased from your Saraswati Vihar venue on 3rd April, 2009 at 6.00 P. M. The speedometer reading shown in the meter was 94 K.M. At the time of delivery we had pointed out to the concerned officer and the technical staff at the showroom about the undesired vibrations in the vehicle. They said that the same problem will be rectified at the rime of Ist service.
Yesterday I had handed over the vehicle to Mr. Rashid of your service station at Badli unit for servicing the above mentioned vehicle vide job card no JC09001105 dated 09.05.09 wherein it was noted by the Mr. Rashid about the vibration on the left hand side and the facts was explained to him.
It was informed by Mr. Rashid that he found a big welded patch (L and U shape) area on the left lamp support on 10th May 2009 at 10 a.m. Immediately, I rushed to the site to attend to his query. The whole episode was unbelievable as no sign of accident was shown on the vehicle whereas the amount of welded material found on the left hand side lamp support exists. This has been acknowledged by Shri Manoj Nigam, A.G.M. and the in-charge of the Saraswati Vihar unit. He has also discussed the matter with technical and commercial staff in the organization.
From the above series of episodes, it is quite evident that either it is a manufacturing defect or the dealer has given us the secondhand and accidental vehicle following unethical practices and code of conduct which can have serious consequences because the contract was for the sale of brand new vehicle.
As far as my knowledge goes, the concerned showroom of your company at the Saraswati Vihar deals in brand new vehicle of Maruti Company and it was an agreement of new brand vehicle of Maruti Company and not a accidental or the second hand vehicle.
In the light of the above well explained facts, I believe that the vehicle will be replaced with a new car of the same make and brand to honor the agreement.
It was my duty to bring this matter to your kind notice and to ask for a replacement. I hope this replacement will be done immediately.
Regards,
Suman Lata Sharma

I am also facing a similar issue with my new swift. I have driven it for hardly 5000 kms and have started facing this issue. My authorised Maruti dealer has already cleaned the brakes 2 times and was not able to solve the problem, it is still making noise. I have been informed now by the Manager-Works of Wonder Cars (My dealer), Pune that the brakepads had a manufacturing defect and they have faced similar such issues with other customers as well. He tells me that Maruti is testing new brake pads and intends to replace the brake pads for all it's customers. He says it will take 2-3 weeks to receive these new brakepads which will be replaced under warranty, waiting to hear from the dealer.

Hello,
I have new car Swift LDi, Bangalore at Pratham motors (Sarjapur outer ring road). When I press break "TAK" sound started coming. Car is new and total run is 1020Kms. I have given it for check today. I hope issue should not be big. If it is big and Maruti could not rectify this, It is going to be a big blow to us as we spend 5, 50000 for Maruti as trusted brand name. It will be highly disappointing to me and many like me who just go for Maruti by closing eyes.

I own a swift vdi that has done about 6000 km which has similar problems. One of my friends bought a new Swift vxi and when I took it for a drive noticed the same problem. The car had hardly done 100 kms.
Looks like they are slipping on the quality for the sake of productivity.
Swift, when it first came out in the market, the build quality was among the best (one of my cousins still owns that piece) but there seems to be a steady decline as time goes by and looks like they have too many customers to feel safe about experimenting on the quality.

I have a ritz vdi, now done around 7k kms. I have been facing this break sound issue for some time now. Even after overhauling them by the service guys, the sound seems to have increased a lot now. Defective parts used by maruti and hurts me a lot as I have paid around 6.2 on road bangalore for a defective car
maruti swift d — breaks
i have maruti swift diesel.car is good.it performs well.maintainence is low.but i have complaint about breaking system.any model of maruti with ABS performs well but i talking about breaks(without ABS) compair to other compony cars, it performs poor.when car on 100Km/h speed and we pushbreakpeddle to break speed, car breaks works slowly.other car compony's breaks(without ABS) perform 3times better than maruti.car is not for only travelling but life saving travelling.so i would have one suggestion to maruti udhyog is that "tell ur engineers to work on breaking system and break liner". i also working on my car liners.i use other compony's liner.so every indian need maruti and need changes.and maruti udhyog need my help, i m ready for improvement.
