DEFECTIVE MRF TYRES NOT REPLACED
CAUSING DANGER TO PUBLIC AND HARDSHIPS, COST TO OWNER.

Dear P.Pushpavanam, Consumer Forum
Mr.Dil, MRF, Chennai

I request to take up my case strongly with General Sales Manager, (Mr.Dil[protected]MRF Ltd., Service Centre, (Mr.Ethiraj=[protected])20, Woods Road, Chennai 600 002. ) Mr.JaiPrakash-[protected])On 12 April 08,

I purchased 4+4 MRF 1757OR tyres with tubes for my FORD 1.3 ICON from M/s BM Lal & Bors, 32, Whites Road, Chennai-32.)Tax Invoice No.27510 dt.12Apr08 for Rs.11, 080 (Rs.9849+VAT Rs.1231)within 8-9 the new tyres started giving abnormal sound while driving at normal city speed. Initially we felt this is due to Engine or other mechanical sound. We got the same inspected, checked wheel alignment, wheel balancing. We met MRF dealer BM Lal & Bros (Mr.Hitesh [protected]) who raised claim forwarding docket No.5884 dt.18Jun09 and called up MRF service engineer to take corrective steps/replace defective tyres & tubes.

We met MRF service engineer Mr.Jai Prakash in his office cum workshop. Wherein he agreed that abnormal sound is due to new tyres fitted. However he kept on calling up at every fifteen days to do some check/tests giving false hope those tyres will be replaced/set right. For 3-4 months he kept the matter lingering. Nothing worked. He advised that sound is due to wheel rims, we should change at our cost. As harried consumer we replaced tyre rims at our cost spending additional Rs.4, 500/- on 8Sep9.

However still sound continued to some out of MRF tyres. We showed and he inspected and agreed that sound still continued. He merely took my home address but no revert. MRF SHATTERED CONSUMER CONIFIDENCE BY FLATLY REJECTING TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE TYRES AND TUBES.

Additionally MRF put us in lot of inconvenience making us to come everyfornight at two of their offices/workshops. We spent futile on Petrol, and replaced tyres rims. I urgently request you to make MR[censored]nderstand what consumer voice is make them accountable for this shabby and choppy after sales mischievous behaviors with consumers.

I am arranging to get this behaviour published across press to alert consumers about MRF tires.

Regds.Vilas.
I totally agree that after writing to General Manager, MRF, Sales, South Region, Chennai.

Company kept silent indirectly admitting their defective tyres and tubes with RISK to public
cost and agony to consumers.

MANDAR.
One should never buy MRF tyres.MRF is very rich. They loose nothing by supplying defective tyres to customers. They will neither care to inspect your defective tyres nor replace.
Mr.Manu Krishnan, MRF Technical Service Engineer did not bother to inspect my defective/damaged tyres, despite requesting him several times on telephone. If, it was inconvenient to him, he should have made alternate arrangements.Because of his defiant behaviour, MRF lost one of their customers.

I bought four new Michelin tyres from New Bharat Tyres, Chakkai, Trivandrum on[protected] for my Hyundai Verna CRDI VGT Diesel car, bought in February 2007.

MRF supplied printed warranty card for six years with my car.

Since, Mr.Manu Krishnan failed to inspect my car tyres, I could buy very good quality world class tyres.Am enjoying superb ride in my car with added maneuverability unlike when fitted with MRF tyres. So many people including leading multi brand tyre dealer discouraged me from buying MRF tyres.I feel MRF is now at the lowest ebb in tyre market.Relatives of MRF(also related to me through my wife, uncles, cousins, etc.) have stopped buying MRF tyres and have switched over to other superior brands for their vehicles.
I will be shortly inserting the photos of my prematurely worn out and damaged MRF tyres in these sites for the netizens. Many people saw my defective tyres directly already.I am damn sure MRF has lost in tyre market.

Dealer is arrogant, misbehaved, -ve mentality man. We r paying but NOT getting services. He is dictator on his political base. Please do needful. (mail: [protected]@hotmail.com)
Recently came across horrible problem in my swift rear tyres. Had travelled 15k km. Got uneven surface on 2 of the MRF ZV2K TL 165/80R14 tyres and it was not at all due to my driving that problem appeared so urged with car dealer regarding replacement for it.

On my request they sent the defect tyres to MRF and today got reply from MRF telling that
"its not manufacture defect instead its due to "belt separation" and as a special goodwill geture we are pleased to offer you 2 brand new tyres of same size and brand for Rs. 2, 000 + taxes."

I appreciate the car dealers who helped me in this case "Bharath Show Room" karnataka, Manglore.

Friends, I have been using Swift LDi from 2008. Original tyres MRF ZV2K TL 165/80R14, worked all right till first 30, 000 km, then started " tuk tuck tuk" sound while driving. this noise can be clearly heared around 70km/hr and above. Within further 5000km, all four tyres develop depressions (known as cupping) all around the tyre. and causes uneven and quick tyre wear at the front. The MRF authorised dealer, asked me to check the mechanical systems once more and correct the wheel alignment. I changed the front shocks and changed the tyres at 55, 000 km with new MRF tyres. Same problem repeated after around 5, 000 km. From this, it is clear that, the problem is MRF ZV2K tyre.
Those who use their cars occasionally may not notice the problem, but regular users come across it.

Now at 45, 000 km of tyre usage, the condition is so poor and dangerous. Decided to replace it with other brands.
