Non refund from IRCTC — R money by IRCTC even after 5 months

I would like to tell you how careless & negligent IRCTC -the so called service provider for Indian railways could be in terms of refunding money to bonafied customers.

I had purchased 3 wait listed 2AC tickets for Nashik from Earnakulam in 14th Mar-10. Up to the time of leaving the train 2 tickets were W/L & 1ticket was RAC. As a result of that I could not travel on that ticket with my family. Immediately I logged in the IRCTC site & booked a online TDR . But unfortunately I am yet to receive the payment back till now (4.5months have passed) and paying interest on the credit card ticket purchase amount. The refund amount comes nearly Rs.6200.

I would like to escalate the matter in consumer forum because as a consumer I am being harassed with no fault on my part. What is my recourse?. I had send many mails & contacted through Customer care number. For all mails they replied with one ticket conformation number, there after no response from their end.

Dear Bhagya Lakshmi,

I had send mail mails & made calls to IRCTC customer care, for the last 02-03 months for a TDR refund. But desperately i didn't received any response from your end either by mail or phone. This TDR is filed in the month of May 2010, for the PNR number [protected] & the blocked amount is Rs.6200.

It's more than 05 months & am eagerly waiting for the release of this money (Rs.6200). I would like to request for your early response in this regards.

IRCTC — NON-REFUND OF MONEY EVEN AFTER 10 MONTHS

Sir/Mam ,
I filed TDR(TICKET DEPOSIT RECEIPT) for ticket PNR Number: [protected] on 25th Jun , 2010 and as the train was more than 3 hours late and I couldn`t board the train so as per railway rules the whole of the amount is refunded back by railways in around 90 days(as per website) , but its been more than 10 months and inspite of giving them reminders twice once during february and once during april still the status of refund is under process . I request you to kindly see to the matter and get the amount refunded in the account as soon as possible.
For reference I am attaching the screenshot of the TDR filed on the irctc website.
