Name of organization: Oxfam India,
1, new community centre, New Delhi
Oxfam trust,
B-121, Malviya Nagar

They raise funds for Swati project of Kushawah trust which is in RK Puram Sec-12 DPS School. The same project is sponsored by an other organisation. Annually Oxfam gives about Rs. 8 lac to this trust for this project. In the annual report of project it is mentioned that only around 50 students were enrolled in this project last year. And this project is ogoing since 1992. If any day this site is visited not a single student would be found there.

Oxfam take money from people 1200 per child for learning material and people over there working as teachers themselves said when asked that they don't provide any books or notebooks to children.

Whenever it gets important for them to arrange project visit for someone, they simply make new batches just a week ago. And when you ask why there is not regular dates on notebook they will give you a no of fabricated reasons.

And most ironical of all, Oxfam raises the funds for the same SWATI project to which it gives 8 lac anually from individuals as well as corporates. every month only delhi office collects more than 15 lac for the same project (for 50 studdents!!). They have collectd huge amount of funds. And these are definitely not utilized properly.

They just need a cause to market it. For eg recently they are also asking for the funds in the name of Haiti earthquake.

CEO Nisha Aggarwal of Oxfam owns many houses in Delhi. Directors, Managers get lavish pays. If this organisation is capable to give such kind of pay to its employs why does it enjoy 80 G benefits.

I am a fund raising executive there and i have witnessed a new year party where they spent a lot of money on liquor and booked whole resort, which might have cost them more than one lakh. How can an NGO bear such kind of expenses. Their fund raising Manager Devendra Mishra always travel by airplane. their people always stay in Five star hotels.

This organisation should be blacklisted and should not be allowed to visit colleges for campus placement because students are not shown the real picture at the time of placement and later are forced to such a job of fund raising by sneaking into buildings and raising funds. The target is 5 times the pay. If we are unable to meet the targets we are not given the pay.

Please take an action immediately to expose this fraudulent organization.

I completely agree with this person. I too have worked as fund raiser with Oxfam India in Bangalore and have realized that they have no projects as such in South India. I have always doubted if they had any projects in India at all. Oxfam India has made approx 30 crore rupees in 2009 and has drastically increased the salaries of its employees.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING
The complainant has raised three major concerns and the following are some of Oxfam India’s views regarding these concerns --
1. Misuse of hard-earned money of people – Oxfam India believes in the highest lev els of transparency and the accounts are audited each year by a reputed firm, Ernst and Young. The audited accounts are also presented every year in the annual report. (http://www.oxfamindia.org/about/annualreports ). We believe in attracting and retaining the best talent and in order to maintain the highest standards, we match the salaries of our employees with that of our competitors. We think that this is not a waste of money but an essential investment necessary to run a high-quality organization.
2. Not doing anything at the grassroots – Oxfam India is a rights-based organization and we partner with more than 250 organizations across the country who are doing grassroots work. We also do advocacy at the State and national level based on the grassroots work that our partners do in order to influence public policy. The grassroots work also offers an opportunity to test innovative models of development that can be scaled up through advocacy
3. Marketing poverty – Oxfam India has a new strategy in place as part of which we are now focusing on seven lagging States – Assam, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar and the lagging groups in each one of these States – Dalits, tribals, Muslims and women. Our focus on the most marginalized and poorest of the poor is specifically with a view to close the gaps between the have and the have-nots in India. 68-80 percent of fund collected is taken by oxfam itshelf rest is used for show business.I have been media analyst for 4 years and have observed working of these NGO's
Oxfam India is froding donors. No one gts to kno as many internal dirt . Rong stories and cheating donors to get there money. many o[censored]s girls worked and saw for ourself. Director hvaing bad eyes for girls and affair with girl who gets prmoshion . Oxfam India does good work but fundrasing is cheating donors. Very bad place to raise funds
if the oxfam people are working for the society then why the all mangares are taking salary more 35k to till 2 lach, from rmh to director, they stay in 5 star hotel and they do journey by flight . from where they are spending that much moner, this money is not them money this money s donos hardest moey, not oly oxfam ow a days 80% ngos has made them business so please try to stop donating ngos, , support dierct the needy people to whom u can see ...
A number of big organizations have outsourced their fundraising to other companies. These agencies charge anywhere between 30 to 55%. Tradional fundraising organizations have employed their own teams inhouse and have cut down on these overhead costs which is good and morally correct. It is for the donors to have the right awareness and knowledge about an organization and should make it a point to visit the projects for which they donate their hardearned money. The professionals who work in these agencies are top notch and salary is not a criteria to look at but definitely these agencies should cut down on costs which are possible in terms of their travel and stay. WE need professionals in this sector and I am of the opion to get the best results you have to give them a comfortable salary.
This complaint is from one lady fundraiser (I wont disclose the name as she would be problem if everybody comes to know about what she has done here) of Oxfam India. She was always unethical in her work and always try to make others negative towards the organisation. One day she shouted like anything during our morning meeting and due to her day to day activities which are not liked by anyone by us, she has been told to leave the organisation.

I being completing 2 and half years with Oxfam visited almost 5-6 projects of Oxfam India and quite happy after seeing the beneficiaries. As far as the salaries are concerned, ya as professionals and young bloods are working for this noble cause, they must get salary because "Charity begins at home".
And its far better than giving commissions on the collected donations as done by other few NGO's.

Being an Individual, i will like to serve this organisation till the time i can.

I completely agree about the fraudulent activities going within Oxfam India. Things like this can happen because we let them happen. One fine day I got appointed as a fundraising executive in one of the Oxfam office, I was excited to join such an organization and more importantly getting a chance to do something for the society made me feel proud. They were about to start a project within 3 months. I was over enthusiastic and tried my level best to collect more funds . And I hit my target for 3 months, then slowly and gradually the reality came into scene. Instead of discussing about the project they discussed about purchasing freeze and other nonsense stuffs. My colleagues who worked there for 2 years now told me not to dream about the project because these are always told to join. I was so angry and told them why you are working here knowing all these ? They replied, the market is tough and it's difficult to get jobs outside. I was shocked by their reply. Since you will be unemployed you will harm the country for your own benefit. I told them you may not have the guts but knowing these I cannot work with frauds. I went to my line manager room, told I quit because I have no faith in your organization. Now I feel quite relaxed at heart.
If you see the age group who work as a fund raiser in Oxfam India . All are youths. So while knowing everything why you people are working, please do justice to yourself and to the country. And see if they don’t have any Indians to work for them whom they will hire and loot Indian people.. Americans?
Its very easy to say we are against corruption and support Anna. But it requires a lot in yourself to justify the statement. I have full faith in the youths working at the various Oxfam india offices will one day join hands and come out together to bring the real picture and make our country proud. JAI HIND
Oxfam - Wikipedia

Oxfam is an international confederation of charitable organizations focused on the alleviation of global poverty. Oxfam was founded at 17 Broad Street in Oxford,

this is British organisation and i am not sure how they use /misuse money in India/Britain
The name Oxfam comes from the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, founded in Britain in 1942 -to relieve famine in Greece
BRitain was same time causing famine in bengal !!!

Britain was so ready to loot India that they were putting TAX ON SALT -which was removed only when Mahatma Gandhi went on SALT SATYAGRAHA
I personally don't believe in British OXFAM
I donated Oxfam India 1000 rupees for Assam flood relief and now I am considering myself foolish to do it as they did not acknowledge or provided any receipt for my transactions .NGOs spend the donations to create infrastructure for their offices and salaries of those who work there and what they do with rest of the money is a matter of research.
My mistake to donate using Oxfam only 50% of donated amount is tax exempted under 80G :-( . Also not received any receipt after 4 days of donation and most disappointment things got to know from their acknowledged mail where it is mentioned that my donation is vital for the North-East flood but I had donated for the Kerala . Please use http://Keralarescue.in rather than using such NGO which cab diverts your donation.
