[Resolved]  SBI Bank — Account Closure

Hi,

I have saving account in Selaiyur, Chennai branch. One year before I relocated to Navi Mumbai. I went to CBD Belapur branch to fill and submit the account closure form. No one was accepting the form to close the account. They told me to go to Chennai and close the account.

Before leaving the Chennai, I talked to Relationship Manager in Selaiyur branch and he told me to transfer or close the account from near branch at your new location (Navi Mumbai).

Please let me know how to close the account in this case ? I can not go to Chennai to close the account.

I face the same probelm.
In my case i opened an account in Chandigarh branch and I was relocated to chennai.
First i tried to deposit the some amount, they told me that the account is ceased. No one knows the exact reason.They guess it as Address issue.
Next providing all the proofs of the present address in chennai, i asked them to transfer the account to the branch here. They asked me to handover a letter and handover passbook and all. At the point of time i misplaced the cheque book. They said its not an issue and i mentioned the same in the also.
After a month, they told me that they didnt get any information on this.
I asked them to close the account atleast and open a new account here. They told me like for closing the account i have to reach Chandigarh branch and also without closing the account they cant open new one.
Today to my bad i lost my wallet and atm card lost.

Now i dont know what to do. Please help.Still i can access the net banking and i can check the balances over there. I dont what sort of cease is this only deposits are not allowed.
The service of SBI far from satisfactory. I relocated to Gandhinagar.I requested for address Change and they not even responded for 3 months even after 4 reminders. Total Buroctratic way and not care for customer so at last I decided to close down the account, since all its branched passes buck.
SBI Bank Branches & the customer care executive doesn't have any communications within in. Both the departments are working parallel without knowing each other. Customer case executives never call to the bank managers of the located banks in various cities. Whatever advertisements they publish about phone banking or any other commodity they are still technically backward. So better i[censored] are facing any problem, just close the bank account then & there itself.

I have saving account in Yellareddygudai branch. One and half year before I relocated to Vijayawada. I went to Ramavarappadu branch to fill and submit the account transfer from Hyd to Vijayawada form. accepting the form to transfer the account. They told me to this application sent to Yellareddyguda Branch and transfer the account. But till now there is no response from your side. i try to Phone call also to Yellareddy guda Branch. But nobody lifted phone

I have an account in Ghaziabad Branch, but I am staying at Raipur presently, I tried to change my mobile no from local branch as well as from online, but always advised visit to home branch, how can possible to visit to home branch which is 1500 km far away, now my ATM also blocked and not able to access my account now, approach to customer care and local branch but no one supporting, pathetic service and not avail services from any of other branch in India itself, but in private bank every service you can avail from any branch, my advice to every one don't open your account in SBI.
SBI services of CHANGA BRANCH, GUJARAT is worst as per my experience, Manager doesn't have sufficient knowledge related to most of queries..WORST Service I had ever seen, and WORST MANAGER..I am going to withdraw my accounts from SBI..Cant go for SBI anymore and suggest everyone to avoid using SBI.

Last year, I helped my domestic maid in opening a Jan Dhan Account. The neighbourhood SBI at Sahakargram Kandivali East directed us to an Agent - Geosansar for opening the account. Each month I have been transferring her salary through internet banking to her savings account. She used to visit the bank's branch with her passbook and get it updated. So imagine my shock when she went to withdraw some money the other day, the branch denied her saying we don't have record of your signature! They said go to the agent who opened your account ! She went to the agent who said we can only pay you if someone deposits money with us !
Is this a joke ?
She holds a passbook issued by the bank and I transfer money regularly to the account which is proof that the account number exists in the bank's records but when it comes to withdrawal there is no help.
SBI is largest scheduled bank nobody can do anything about it.Arrogant .I have very bad experience On their Toll-free number they gave wrong number of RCP Ghansoli branch.When pointed out that this number does not exist the person responds this is the only number available

To close account one has to travel to the same branch, RCP, by spending money why they do not allow to close from any branch

My mother had been account with SBI Bank at Narayannagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Branch since last 12 yrs. After her death I have given request for account close. After 3 days when I went to bank to collect cheque, the bank deducted Rs. 575/- as account closure charge.When I requested to provide circular but they unable to provide me.

I have given complaint on 24/4/2017 to The Branch Manager. I was promised that I will get reply after 3 days I went after 7 days but they people have no reply and told me that this is as per bank circular.

please help me in this case what should I do next.

My sister had opened zero balance saving account nearly 2 years ago but when her account had been closed we didnt know n we provided same account for her post scholarship last year n this year too.. now we are at great problem sir she will not get her scholarship of last year n next year too as her accnt is already closed.. can u give me some idea.. How to reopen same account or another account with same number
