[Resolved]  SBI Visa Gold Card — fraudulent use of my card and harassment for payment

Sir,

I am a user of SBI Visa gold card No [protected]. The card was validated up to July 2008. Due to my personal requirements, I was using this card rarely. However all the bills were paid in time.
On 15.4.2008, I received a phone call. The caller introduced herself as Priya and informed that she was calling from the SBI. She enquired me about the receipt of new card issued in my favour in lieu of the old card which was validated up to July 2008. On my refusal she enquired about my residential address and telephone. The address and telephone number, which I told, was not matching with the records of SBI. After detailed discussion, I was informed that had done fraud on my card and spent hefty amounts on my card and demanded a draft of rupees Fourty Thousand which had been cancelled. Now the issue of the draft had been cancelled and the transactions on the card had been suspended
The matter was taken up by me on the SBI help line on 16.4.2008. The officer responding to me first refused to recognize me based on the identifications given by me stating that these particulars are not tallying with the records updated with SBI. Based on the telephonic discussion with the caller on 15th and 16th April 2008 with the caller “madam Priya”, I told that somebody had done the fraud by tampering my personal records available with the SBI and the matter should be taken up with the police, as this is possible only with the connivance of some Officer/official from the SBI. The matter was also taken up with the “Manager, Cards, SBI”. It was assured that, I would be co-operating with the enquiries, if required.
Instead of taking the appropriate action, I am being harassed by the SBI for making the payments, which I have not made. Daily I am getting a phone call in between 8.00 to 8.30 AM insisting for making the payment. I am afraid that this is being done to protect the SBI Official involved in leakage of my personal data, getting my address transferred to Ghaziabad and phone number changed, as conveyed to me by Madam Priya on the 15.4.2008. More interesting is that I am not getting the bills.
Sir, I request for your intervention in the matter and request SBI to not to harass me and conduct the necessary enquiries for:-
�?? How my personal data available with SBI was leaked?
�?? How my address and telephone numbers, etc were changed
�?? How my new card was sent Gaziabad.
�?? Why the matter had not been reported to the police or other agency responsible for conducting the enquiries?

Sir, I again request your intervention for advising the SBI for not harassing me and conducting suitable enquiries for the fraudulent use of my card.. Mean while, SBI may issue me a new card with new number, if deemed fit, as I am a good may master and having a clean record for making the timly payments in the past.
