[Resolved] SJBIT — Students being fined for not attending festival. | |
I am a student of SJBIT college affiliated to vtu in 5th sem and am very concerned about the way they are finding new ways of stealing from us. Our final exams are upon us and our college has a three day 'BGS UTSAV' during which they plan on closing hostel gates so that EVERY student has to attend and FINE those who don't, because a somewhat political celebrity happens to attend it. During the period of 26th to 28th November from 9 in the morning till 8 at night we are forced to attend it, even though college and classes have already stopped. People are traveling from hours away to attend this as they have said, that we will not get our hall tickets if we refuse to pay the heavy fine.For 3 days continuously, instead of letting us study, they are forcing us to attend a karnataka carnival, where the people from the north do not understand a word. The guards at the main gate have been given orders by the principal himself to neither let the teachers nor the students out till the utsav ends. Moreover, our lecturer TOLD us that they wont finalize our CLASS ATTENDANCE till the festival attendance is as required. I have tried to contact VTU but their website shows no details as the 'contact us' section is always under construction. We are too scared to give out our names as, knowing our principal, if he found out, he would fine us again and/or we would get an NFTC our way. Please help and take action against our college. one of the sadist department in sjbit is mechanical... dey even dont have basic knowledge on subjects...and treating students as slaves..and dogs... if anybody rise voice against this..definetly his life will finish

These authorities are very difficult 2 understand...
Bcz they forced us to attend the BGS FEST ...
But during the inagrtn they were not ready 2 let any SJBIT students to enter the auditorium...
Then y the hell they are forcing to attend the fest...
What we can do there...
Mad authorities...
We can c their madnes in evry rules...
There is a library for us... They wil not alloy u to take books after 3.45
since we hav classes up to 3.45...
If any of the authorities reading this kindly tell us what we can do...

i agreeee. one of go to vtu office and complain...i[censored] know u are right ...then ppl are behind u always.. go for it...register a complain..or do satyagraha ...it should stop and time is NOW...

I Strongly Agree, I really support our juniors. The college has to remove the gates first. There shouldn't be any unnecessary FINE. I really appreciate the student who has put forward his concerns.

The college wont even allow us to create a student union to be formed...
this keeps the student separated from other depts...
they actually divide us and rule...
unless v all come up and stand up for ourselves nothing is going to change...
and students are literally scared to even stand up for themselves...
Lets do something abt this...
i can't take this kind of nonsense for another 2 and a half yrs...
i'll support any1 who is ready to stand up and fight...
v need a lot of support from the students side...
all they need is a person who'll fight...

Placement officer going to mad beacause he dont have work they put the placement on sunday also
every word said above is correct n tis ws jus an example of the greater penalties in coll...pls help us n take some credible action against coll...

Please be careful about SJBIT engineering college Principal, he is a shark in human skin...Once you take admission, 1st year is no problem but then in subsequent years he starts his Money-Collection game...He would detain selective students and not promote them to higher semesters under some pretext, and then would ask money (1-2 laks) for promoting them...Now who wants to lose an year? but then you will have to pay the illiterate clerks hovering around the Principal, even to get an appointment...Even if you are willing to Pay 2 laks to the Principal, the clerks (all uneducated, speaking local language) will demand their own pound of flesh...The principal's office at SJB.IT, Kengeri..is a den of greedy and corrupt people...
