I Dr. Vaishali suri , am working as Associate Professor, Department of
Pathology, All India Istitute of Medical Sciences, New
Delhi. I wish to bring to your notice that:
I had received a cheque of Rs 60, 000 from CNC AIIMS (SBI 646122) as
a reimbursement of learning resource allowance.
I deposited the cheque in the drop-box of SBI Ansari Nagar branch,
New Delhi for local clearance on 17/3/2011 to be deposited in my SBI Dilshad garden Branch Account No. 10172595382
I didn't receive this amount in my account as on 25/3/2011
I requested the bank officials to take an urgent action in thisregard so that the amount gets credited in my account.A photocopy of the counter-foil was also provided
The bank took no action and told me point blank that they cannot do
anything as I cannot prove that the cheque was received by them
I had to make a stop payment and am trying to get a fresh cheque
issued in my name.
Since the method is not fool proof, the bank should either make a facility to scan the cheque or receive it by hand. This mode of letting down the customers and taking no owness is totally unacceptable. Infact the officials seemed totally unconcerned as if the total fault was mine.
I would appreciate a written explanation in this regard and a a guideline on how to assure that such a thing would not be repeated in future
