[Resolved]  State Bank of India, Delhi Cantt Branch — Careless working regarding cheque clearance

This complaint is regarding a very careless working of cheque clearance section of State Bank of India, Delhi Cantt. Branch.

I dropped one AT PAR cheque in drop box of branch with duly filled up form on[protected] amounting Rs. 1270.50 received from UTI drawn on SBI itself. Cheque No. was 831249. After a week when I checked the status, I came to know that the cheque once credited on[protected] then debited the amount on the same date. In detailed I noticed that they have written bank name Indian overseas bank instead of SBI. I would also like to mention that same amount of cheque received in April 2008 was also treated like this but after a few days, the bank gave the credit. Thinking that same will be credited in few days I waited. But within a month when I got no result, I contacted personally to the bank and was surprised that they are in no position to tell any thing about the cheque. They could not find about the cheque in books and also on the computer. I also checked the despatch register with one of the staff of the bank but could not find entry of the cheque. After that I requested them to return my cheque or clear the status of the cheque but they always asked me to come again later. For the last 7 months I have visited the bank for this a no. of times but in vain. I also complained about this to General Manager SBI Local Head Office, Sansad Marg, New Delhi 9th March 2009 but got no result.
In April I again got my final payment from UTI through two cheques amounting Rs. 14771.00 and Rs. 25000. I deposited again in SBI Delhi cantt branch but the same thing happened again. To my surprise they entered in computer that one cheque if from Indian Overseas bank and one is from SBI. But both cheque were from SBI with consequtive nos. 208539 and 208540. They lost the chques once again. I pressed hard to look for the cheques and after visiting no. of times they checked their drawers thoroughly and returned the cheques after one month. I deposited them in Dwarka branch and got them cleared. That clearly indicates that the SBI Delhi cantt branch staff are not working up to the mark.
On 3rd June 2009 when more than 6 months have elapsed my earlier cheque was of no use, the Branch Manager gave me a certificate indicating that the cheque was lost somewhere when despatched to me, which was totally misguiding, because the cheque was never returned to me as per their record. Action should be taken and the bank should be panalised for their careless working.

I vinod kumar has depositted my cheque of Rs 7842in vasantvihar ATM near Bharat Petrol Pump on11June009(ch no.122422 of syndicate bank) but no clearance has been activated due to not collection of the cheque from drop box.I also contacted to vasant vihar branch telephonically but only promises given to us.Please do at your end

I dropped one cheque in drop box of branch with duly filled up form on[protected] amounting Rs. 42925/ received from BANK OF INDIA drawn on SBI itself. Cheque No. was 26150. After a week when I checked the status there is no any result . I would also like to mention that after a month there is no any change in progres. I contacted personally to the bank and was surprised that they are in no position to tell any thing about the cheque. I also checked the dispatch register with one of the staff of the bank but i find entry of the cheque. After that I requested them to return my cheque or clear the status of the cheque but they always asked me to come again later. For the last 2 months I have visited the bank for this a no. of times but in vain. I also complained but gote no result. That clearly indicates that the SBI RIT BRANCH JAMSHEDPUR staff are not working up to the mark. Action should be taken and the bank should be panalised for their careless working.
i request you to please sovle the matter regarding my cheque clearance

I submitted my Cheque No.550572 of SBI Main Branch, New Delhi on Date:25/8/09 at SBI main Branch Godhra, till date above mentioned cheque is not deposited in to my Ac. No.[protected]. Today I inquire for the same at the bank but no one gave me satisfactory answer so please do positive from your side as early as possible and do needful.

SBI Delhi Cantt — return of cheque

I am having my account in SBI Delhi Cantt since 1988. My account No is [protected]. I had presented 1 cheques to HDFC on account of the payment of EMI for the loan taken by me. The cheque issued by me dated 30 Sep 09 is already cleared. However, the cheque No 534911(from the same cheque book) dt 10 Oct 09 has been returned by SBI stating that 'no such account exists with them'. My monthy salery is credited in this account and suffcient balance is available. such an action on the part of SBI has caused embrassment to me. Kindly investigate and inform me.

State Bank of India — check not clear from 7 months

Dear Sir,

I had submitted a cheque (Standard Charted bank) dated on 03/11/2011 , Cheque No. 537500 in
SBI Hirakud. My A/C No. is [protected]. & also follow up many times but not found any positive response.
So Kindly request you to please help me in this matter.
