[Resolved]  Talera Ford — Delay in delivery of a new car

We booked a Sea Grey Ford Figo ZXi from Talera Ford, Yerwada, Pune on 11th May 2010. At the time of booking we were told that there's a 45 days waiting period and that we should get it by 26th June 2010. We were fine with it. The dealer asked us not to procceed with the loan approvals until we get a go-ahead from him. Finally after numerous follow up calls from the bank (SBI) we went for the verification on 26th June. We got the bank approval on the loan and our down-payment amount of 1.7L was deducted from my bank account by the dealer on 1st July. It's 13th July today and after numerous follow ups the dealer has not been able to commit a date to us by which we should expect to get the car delivered. He keeps saying the same thing that he doesn't know when the Chennai team would release the car from there.
How could a dealer not know the delivery date of a vehicle? This is so frustrating. The dealer is not only annoying us and eating interest on our money but also spoiling the brand name of Ford. I would never recommend any of my friends to buy a Ford when he could get much quicker delivery at a Maruti's or Hyundai's showroom. I regret my decision of going with Figo and if at all possible I would cancel my booking.
