[Resolved] TCS — Bad Server of IRCTC | |
I can say, people across the globe trying to book a tatkal ticket would definitely face this issue. IRCTC Server goes down when tatkal reservation starts at 8am everyday. It would be down atleast for 1.5-2hrs. By that time, if the season is a peak one, all the available tickets would get exhausted. Inspite of repeated calls to IRCTC, to maintain the server properly, we never get any good response. They simply say, due to the heavy load, the server goes down. If this is what IRCTC says, its high time. People across the globe, use banking services, online. Still they are satisfied because, their servers are high end servers, which can take that load. Wondering, why IRCTC cannot go to a HIGH END SERVER. Talk to the Server VENDOR, and he/she will give you the resolution. I am ashamed of the IRCTC Services and its architecture. IRCTC — Poor Performance Of the server
The present server is to slow to serve such a vast consumer. Whenever I try open the site it is getting slow. The payment making system is very poor. The payment from hdfc Credit card is payed after a long time which eats a lots of time and the ticket is also not booked Its the most stupid server i have ever seen. Most of the time server is down or when the page loads bloody calender control does not work. TCS sucks really. You people are loading all bull crap in the booking page and most of the controls do not get loaded. Testing team sucks big time. And IRCTC you too.

And this co earns a bad reputation even amongst engineers, many of its own.
Dude, you talking about having good servers?... they cant even write good code to take 15000 requests per day ... on multiple high end servers (heard of ibm-power-6 ?)... all this for a 30-35 Cr. govt project ... these TCS engineers are disasters...
Bullcrap and bureaucratic people @ TCS... their sales folks bribe govt folks - a lot to get their multi-crore projects... and they have to bribe.. bcoz other co's can do it for much less - less than half and still better than idiotcs-engrs ... ...

yday i went to koyambedu to book a tatkal ticket. I reached there by 6 AM in the morning. I was really shocked seeing a very long line at 6 AM. I think people might be standing in the queue from 4 AM. then i realised that even if i stand in a queue, it would definately take 1 hour by the time i get my turn. then i decided to come back home and try from online. At 8 AM i saw there are 150 tickets available in tatkal. exactly at 8:01 all the tickets sold out and it went to waitlist 30.
I was trying to login but the application did not allow me to login at all for the first 30 minutes.
I got below error:

Service unavailable
Timeout error
I really got irritated and could not able to book a ticket in tatkal even though i am ready to pay 75/- extra. Since irctc is a govt project, tcs is playing with us. If it is a USA project, TCS might have paid lot of penalties.Infact they provide very robust servers to USA companies bcoz they may tend to impose penalties.
I am recently came back from usa and I am really getting irritated and started disliking our country.
Since the time you get up in the moring until you sleep, you fight for everything
- Fight for milk
- fight with traffic jam to reach office. These politician buggers donated lands to IT companies in Siruseri near to their lands and ther are concentrating in siruseri without providing proper infrastructure.My house is in vadapalani and it takes 21/2 hours to reach office. i spent around 10 litres of pertrol for my car for 2 way. Imagine how much petrol we are wasting unnecessarily. I cannot afford to buy a house near siruseri bcoz it will cost us 50-80 lakhs.
-there is a toll gate which collect 35/- (nobody asks why they are collecting.) if you see the infrastructure in OMR raod, it is too bad.
- When i came to chennai 7 years ago, thunder coconut was 5/- not it 25/-. An apple in a day keeps the doctor away but when you buy an apple, it keeps you in a hospital. an apple will cost us 25/-
- If you want to go to a movie, Ticket cost is 100-150/-. with family, you need to spend 1000/-.
- For a school admission, you name it any school, you will not get admission for not less than 60K per annum.

IRCTC — Page not loaded
IRCTC website is pathetic! I see 100 complaints since year 2007 and looks like there is no improvement till date. The web page doesn't loaded for hours together! Internet speed is nearly 3mbps Communication error

Apart from the above errors, we will also get the below problems.
1. It will not show the image(for confirmation code) and will take lot of time to load.
2. After entering the credit card/debit card details, will get one error saying that we have clicked Forward/Back button etc.
What the hell is? It is the time now to maintain IRCTC with proper servers and is also heard that the agents are provided with another server which will load the data very fastly (Not sure about it. Just heard).

IRCTC website has been totally unresponsive, especially during 8AM - 9AM. If the government can not maintain the website, they have no right to have a monopoly. The website should either be improved or it should be let maintained by a private company. All you bloody hells can do is only complaint. No one cares what amount government is paying to TCS. TCS is working only gor govt in such less amount.

Very poor server performance from IRCTC . I tried so many times to book tatkal ticket but all those time it ends in failure only. Railways is a very big network in india . For a big network they are maintaining a very low quality server . It's very deplorable . This situation should change asap.

Hi Cyrus (TCS Ke CEO), If you are looking after IRCTC project, could you please ask your engineers to maintain a better server for IRCTC site ?
There is one more sggestions, if the data can be distributed and kept on different servers, then that would be great.

Broadvision is the company responsible, not TCS
they always blaming that more no. of ppls are hitting that side that is why server is always down...they never accept own blunder mistake like code quality and poor server ...
the main reason behind that ...the new commerce is working on most of the TCS project and they dont know how to write the quality of code...and senior resource check the out put only...and they already set up his mind that performance is the next project ...
