Thakur Public Schoool, Mumbai — Refund Of School Fees

Dear Sir,

I want to lodge a consumer complaint against Thakur Public school, Kandivali East, Mumbai, where I have admitted my 2 kids for admission for year[protected]Nursery & Lower K.G) . I have submitted the withdrawl application on 15th Jan 2008 for the session to start on June 2009. The reason is that we are moving out from Mumbai.

I have explained the same reason to the school and assured them that we are not getting them admitted in any school in Mumbai.

Despite that they are only refunding the security deposit of Rs.10, 000 each out of the total money given for Rs.35000/- for one Kid.

Rs.25000 each for 2 kids totaling to rs.50000 is not being returned.

I plea your help in the same since the session is not yet started and there is still 6 month time for session to be started and admissions are still going on for Nursery and Lower KG.

Pls.let me know the procedure and also I need refund of the fees at the earliest.

there are a couple of students i know of trying to get admission in thakur public school. the school says they are late and admissions are full. y dont u check is anyone is interested in getting admitted to the school and take them to the school and get ur childs admission transferred and get ur money from the parents of the newly admitted kids...

I fully agree with the view of Sonika /Vishal Mandal.
the school must refund the fee in full, if not then it is nothing but snatching/day robbery of money by the school.

I wish then success in this fight.

The school is a cheating the innocent parents and this is cause of harrassment. This is worst than stealing the money.

If the schools attitude is like this than how will they teach the Children in the school the Justified, fair and honesty in life.

Thakur Public school is more like a Business activity than educational activity to the children and society.

They need to be taken to the court against all such schools and institutions.

I will call for various news papers to question the management.

Dear Sir,

I live in Mumbai since birth and I had shifted to Goa in 2007 as my company where i am working had opened another center in Goa and i was to handle the operations out there. i had shifted there with my family.

After the project is over we have been shifted back to Bombay. My daughter was studying in an ICSE board school out there, here as we could not get an admission in ICSE board based school we took her admission in a school with CBSE Board for STD 1.

Recently we got a call from another ICSE based school where we had approached before that they have one seat available now and if inetersted we can join that school. As my daughter was finding the CBSE studies very difficult we agreed to shift her to that ICSE board school.

I requested the CBSE board school to withdraw my child from their school and issue me the leaving certficate, Original Birth certificate and the fees for the whole year which we had paid in advance. but that school has given her clear instructions that they can only give us the Leaving certficate and they ll not give us our original birth certificate back and no refund of fees will be given which amounts to Rs. 13, 000.00.

I need help that how can i get my childs Original Birth certificate back as we have to submit the same in the other school. and also the refund of fees. Somebody please help me on this.

Where can i go and complain?
I want to teach this school good lesson as in how can they just harass us like this.

I have realised the system is loose when it comes to repaying caution deposit and such .The word school seems to be something like the AMISH that have their own rules norms and ways no one can question and for as long as the child is in the same school no parent wants to pick a bone with the questionable policies .
For instance my kids studied in Balaji International in Malad .There was nothing even national about the curriculum coaching leave alone international so i sent them away to Ooty boarding scool called Brindavan .The deposit paid 3 years ago stay still unreturned .The office and principal claim "you need to submit original birth certificate to get your money back and it will take 2 -3 months for the same " . Frankly i dont comprehend how and why schools hoard birth certificate .Secondly why is it needed when withdrawn and already moved ????? So my money stays stuck till when ???? See there is no help to parent from a website / office /call center on education greviances .

Now since kids were getting depressed in the boarding i got them back to mumbai after 2 years .The deposit paid here + 10k extra fees still stay in the school kitty and they keep skirting my calls and letters /mails saying the accountant has changes .Brindavan Public school was founded by a freedom fighter and now i am having to fight for freedom from them !!!

Somebody pls suggest who can i turn to, to get my money back from both schools ? IS there an ICSE education board ? Officials ? who can investigate and register complaints ?

I tried to take Admission for mu duaghter in Sr KG. Last year the Principal and the trustee had confirmed to admot her in Sr. KG Morning Batch. We were not interested in afternoon batch as there is no bus service available and we staying far away can not have the child dropped picked up and dropped everyday. This Year the school issued us a from worth Rs.1000 with a stamp of Bus Service, we were so happy, we filled up the from and submitted the same to the school, Post that we were asked to come for an interview, we issued a demand draft in the name of the school, but to our surprise when we went for the interview the school refused to admit the child that there are no seats in the morning batch. The trustee admitted that it was thier mistake and started screaming rudely showcasing her personality. It was a nightmare experience for us if the administration itself lacks disicipline what are they going to inculcate in the children. I am very happy that my child is not studying in such a school which is nothing but a money making machine and is run by people who themselves lack discipline and manners in thier personal life.

thakur public school — School refusing to refund Security Deposit

I have joined my son (1 1/2 years) in play group in Thakkur Public School - Kandivili East. I am not okay with the school , i mean the way the small kids are handled. I wanted to cancel the admission. I have approached the school in this regard (stating reason as transfer of my employment. I have also communicated that the playgroup section is not doing well) and came to understand that no refund will be done including the security deposit. Do we have any options here to take up/esclate the matter further, whereby we can claim atleast the security deposit.

The school claims that the depost can be refunded only if the child completes one year of education.

Term fee : Rs.8000 aprox
Security deposit : Rs.10000

Even the school teaching staff also seems morally uneducated. ..use such bad language and physical punishment specially P.T staff.its high time that school authority keep a check on such behaviour. What kind of lesson these teacher want to give to younger generations...that its good to humiliate ..when you are in power.Even tell kids ..that they can't complain about it.But I am firm believer in god ...so i just wish and pray all such horrible creature get tit for tat . ( sorry but can't call them human ).such people don't deserve to be called Teacher

I went for my son admission at the time of purchase of admission form they told me that your second meeting is after two days in which you can interact with the principal and ask your any doubt and queries about it..and took additional charges on that day..when I visited to school for interaction at that time they asked me to deposit fee first and then I can have my doubt session though my very few money is wasted over there around 3000 but I happy that I got to know there attitude before hand..
