Sub : Complaint for Ceiling Fan Quanta 56 inch purchased from CSD Canteen.

I am a Junior Commissioned Officer from the Indian Army. I purchased one ceiling from CSD canteen 13600:56E Quanta-1400 mm on 12.3.08. It broke down within one year and after a personal visit to your office at Kasturba Gandhi Marg , New Delhi and number of telephonically conversations, I got it replaced in April 2009 with a new fan 48 inch quanta in stead of 56 inch quanta. This was done through Mr Suman o[censored]sha International. The changed piece even broke down on 04.7.10. As a result neither piece lasted for two years as per the guarantee terms and conditions. I visited the service centre at Lodhi Colony , New Delhi who informed me the estimated cost of repairing would be Rs 400/-. I contacted Mr Suman and narrated the whole story who in turn replied that now the company is not responsible as the ceiling fan has been replaced once. But to my mind either of the piece was supposed to work successfully for two years at least at a stretch i.e guarantee period. Then how such a reputed company can be irresponsible as such as informed by Mr Suman.

May I now request you, either I may be given a new ceiling fan 56 inch (actual substitute of initially purchased ceiling fan ) or at least a refund of Rs 392/- paid to the service centre at Lodi Colony, New Delhi on 15.7.10 (Job No 3189 refers) along with suitable compensation for the harassment faced so far. I hope a heed will definitely be given to the above and do the needful on Priority to avoid getting the image tarnished of such a reputed company and also to avoid legal complications at later stage.

Photocopies of the following documents are enclosed :-

1. CSD Canteen Bill.

2. Photo copy of the work order duly signed by Mr Suman mentioning replacement of fan.

3. Photo copy of the Guarantee Card.

Last Friday on 20.8.10 Mr Suman rang me up saying that my letter has been received by him and I need to collect the fan personally from the company and will not be delivered at home. This is an harassment being caused to me unnecessarily. I further request that new fan be delivered at my place of residence and if the old fan is to be taken back then Rs 392/- may also be refunded to me on spot.

There is no provision for home delivery of replacement stock, hence i am sorry to say but you have to send somebody to collect the same.

Dear Sir,

From the above, it is clear that I am being harassed unnecessarily. If I am not delivered the fan within one week, I may have to take up the case with DG CSD Canteen with a request to stop demand/sale of the Usha products in CSD Canteen and simultaneously file a case in the consumer court with detailed history of harassment (which will include time wasted for roaming about from Residence to Service Centre/ Usha Office at Kasturba Gandhi Marg , New Delhi, cost of petrol, telephone calls expenditure and suitable compensation for harassment so caused) from 12.3.2008 till date.

ceiling fan quanta — delay in replacement

fan was purchased from CSD. it developed problem of abnormal noise after 01 yr.it was taken to service centre at sainath enterprises. repair attempt was made. still noise persisted. again it was taken to service centre on 16 jun 12. it was told that product will be replaced on 18 jun 12. contacted several times but product is not handed over till date. very-2 poor service at sainath enterprises.r godown is located just 1 km away from the service centre, still this much delay. it is just harassment to customers.Request hand over the product at the earliest.
